Wow our group doubled. Yeah! I still havent gotten my form letter but I mailed one to him yesterday. I hope it gets there okay. I heard from a past recruit that you aren't suppose to write anything extra on the envelope front or back (like happy birthday). He said they could have to do extra pt for that, and we dont want that. I hope they get to write back soon. Does anyone know if they get all their mail at once? Like if we mail one on a friday do they not get it until the following sunday? Well just let me know, welcome everyone.

Hey Quuen of Disrepair= I just got off of the website and they dont have it posted yet; Although his DIV is 951 it doesnt matter. The graduation on 10/29 has different divisions as well. I hope that helps. When did your sailor leave?

Got a letter today saying his PIR is 11/5. I'm confused though - he says his division is 951/ship 2 and that seems way different from everyone else here. Is there a way to check to see if that's correct? I'm having an awful time trying to log on to the boot camp navy.mil site

@Lynne, he didn't forget anything. Said they had just finished stenciling their clothes. Didn't forget or need anything, just was calling to talk. The connection was horrible, but from what I heard I was thrilled to hear his voice. Maybe he was able to call because he never got the I'm here call. Mentioned something about not being able to figure out the pay phone at first. Not sure if it was a phone problem or the fact he may never have used a pay phone before.

Laura...you got a phone call three days in...OMG that is incredible...had he forgotten something or done something incredibly well...the RDCs told Cardinal Compnay it would be about six weeks.

Wow did our group grow today....lol...it is Wednesday...mail day....welcome welcome welcome to all our new members...I am so excited to get to know each and every one of of you. I started this group but don't claim to know much, but I am really good at finding out things so I will try to wear that hat....so let the "fun" begin. I hope each of you will take some time to introduce yourself. I am considering taking this group private once a week or 10 days pass just so we don't have to worry about the RDC's reading what we write. Although they are not supposed to read these forums they do and we want to protect out recruits...so tell me your feelings about this.

My son arrived at Great Lakes on Sept. 8, but so far no box or letter. No PIR date. I'm beginning to wonder what is happening. Any suggestions?
Comment by AmeliaGrumma (RCU) on September 15, 2010 at 8:49pm
Hi Everyone! Received my "Kid in the box" yesterday and her letter today! PIR 11/5/10, Ship 07 DIV 356. Planning our road trip for PIR!

Her lines at the bottom of the form letter stated "I'm doing good, love you all, & so far so good! Miss everyone, my cellphone, & facebook! Love you bunches!

At least she put us above her phone & facebook!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at PIR! DRESS WARM!
