Hi Moms, wives, gfs - Just checking in on yall.... read back several pages and it seems that your pain is mostly all about letters and calls. I remember those day VIVIDLY! My son PIRd 09-02 and is now in P'cola classing up Spec Ops Air Crew...

Anyway --- I just wanted share a little with yall. JessicaB says to Pay it Forward and here I am doing just that!~ If you have not seen that movie by the way please rent it!

Letters - Okay - My son left on the 7th of July (Wed). He arrived at about 11:00pm at BC and gave the quick Mom Im here call - but I missed it I was exhausted and fell asleep! (Actually I cried myself to sleep accidentally) I still have his voice mail on my cell phone! Then we received his box 5 days later (Monday) ---- then on Thursday (9 days after he left) received his form letter. So all that took place in the first 9 days. The form letter had a little note he had scribbled - he had been up for many many hours - P days are really hard on them. I sent him a letter every day. I received his first letter on the 22nd (16 days after he got there) Got his second letter on the 27th - so my letters started coming in on about the 4th week after his being gone. I did not receive a call from him until the very end of the 3rd almost the 4th week. Now the entire time - I got more letters than a lot of moms about 6. Phone calls I got 2 and then the call after BS that was all. Soooo I guess Im trying to give yall a little bit of a time line so you wont worry yourself sick every day and get arrested for chasing the mailman hahah! Look for that form letter pretty soon though - I dont know when yalls guys / gals left but should be soon it looks like and their address and info for grad and invitees for the PIR will be written on that form letter - put that letter in a safe place! If they put the wrong people on the PIR invite part on the form (4 spaces) they can change those name. Only THEY can change them - all you have to do is write them and tell them. I had 4 people that he and I had discussed before he left and two of them changed - he was able to change them - no problem. Well, I tell ya lots more but mostly just wanted to calm your aching hearts and let you know that they busy becoming Sailors in the Worlds Greatest Navy - so don't be too dismayed!!! {{HUGS}}

Wow that doesn't make much sense because my son got there Sept. 3rd and his RDc told them that their PIR was Nov. 5th...do you know his ship and division

My future son-in-law didn't arrive at boot camp until Sept. 7th He called his mom this weekend, my daughter missed his call. She is in A-school in Pensacola and wasn't expecting a call for at least a couple more weeks. His mom said his PIR date is Oct 29th but that just seems way too soon. Maybe if he is in a rush division. And he was volunteering for special forces this week so it could all change again.

Calling all Cardinal Company Moms - I got an address: our recruiter was very clear this is the address for any young man who was in the cardinal company....here it is
SR Last Name, First Name, MI
Recruit Training Command Great Lakes
Ship 07 Div357
3425 Salilor Dr. Bld.7117

This is how the recruiter said to address the mail so if it is different than what someone else said I am sorry.

Don't apologise, thanks for answering. I still haven't recieved my form letter, I'm getting restless. Mondays stink. I don't feel very well today and that for some reason always makes me miss him more.:-)

According to seasoned moms and wives letters usually arrive on Wednesdays or Thursdays if that helps you. I am sorry I am long winded. I don't mean to be.
