Hi, everyone. It was so nice meeting some of you.The PIR was amazing and it was wonderful to see our Brittany again. We took her to Cheesecake Factory on Friday and rode the train to Chicago on Saturday. She seemed alot more relaxed on Saturday, and we could see traces of our old Brittany again through those much wiser and more mature eyes of the woman who is our new Brittany.
The pictures we took at PIR weren't very good. I was just wondering if anyone has any pictures of DIV 951, the choir, or the honor grads??? And if you would be willing to share?

What a great weekend! The meet and greet was overwhelming with all the people! The food was good and service was great! I got there a little late as I was napping.. oh well. The PIR was beautiful! It was a little emotional in the beginning when they played all the songs for each branch of service, and my husband stood up and it hit me I have 2 Navy guys now... I just enjoyed everything and really didn't cry! It was so cool when they called Liberty that my son knew where to find us without texting or calling on cellphone! We spent a quick day shopping at the Nex and spending time in the room skyping his sister who couldn't come, then eating again, we returned him to base with extra time, and had to leave the next day! Thanks to whoever adopted Brad on Saturday and Sunday! He goes to SC on Tuesday! Getting things ready to ship today!
His sister kept saying my little brother is all grown up! Boy is he! Thanks for all the support! This site has been great! guess I'm off to nuke school site ... gotta look around!

What a wonderful weekend. I held the tears until Liberty was called at the end of the ceremony, then they came. What a long journey, with many obstacles, but now we have a Sailor. He is so very happy, has matured, but is also still himself. He is so proud to wear those uniforms and is so excited for the next part of this journey to begin in South Carolina at Nuke school.
When he passed that run, finally, the Friday before, he said he had to run it with the Seals in training and those guys are fast, so that really motivated him to push hard and get it done. The shins are good right now, thank goodness.
The MRI was done and they have decided that for right now it is something they want to watch and check again next year. It may or may not develop into something serious, so they will watch it and retest, and I will pray.
I find myself more at peace now, no tears when we left him today, just happy hugs and relief. He was anxious to get back on base to go to a movie with a bunch of the guys. He's comfortable, feels a bond, and that is so terrific.
He leaves on Wed. for S.C.
Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and safe travels.

Diana - my sailor also had a rough time this weekend as her boyfriend broke up with her over the phone as well. But I agree, they are better off. She was a bit upset about it but is strong and will also be fine. She's so looking forward to getting to Virginia and start her Navy life! I am so proud of her and pray she will find all she is searching for. This weekend was wonderful with her.. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter, sailor... Missing her already!!

Well it was hard leaving him tonight at the base, but I am so proud of him, I cried and he didnt understand why I was crying, I told him because he is so awesome. He is going to Florida on Wednesday, he says he loves the Navy. All he wanted to do today is sleep, so he did, and then we saw a movie. I told him if he isn't feeling better when he gets to Florida he will need to go back to the doctor, he isn't use to the cold weather. I am not use to seeing him so pale, because in AZ you don't get pale. lol. I feel so blessed to have been able to be here this weekend and to see my son, it was hard for him because his girlfriend broke up with him this weekend by phone. He is better off. He will be fine. He is going to concentrate on his school.
We are flying back tomorrow, hopefully no broken plane.

Okay, I just want to cry. I looked at the pictures I took at the PIR and I am such a lousy picture taker. Does ANYONE have pictures of PIR and especially Division 357? If so would you be willing to share them? I feel so sick.

I called about the DVD. I think I will have information about that tomorrow. I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW as soon as I know.
