Hi all. Sounds like weekend liberties are going great. We went to Navy Pier in Chicago today. The over to Willis tower- there was 1 1/2 hour wait to go to the skydeck, being conscious of the time we didn't get to go up. Little disappointed about that, but have enjoyed each moment of being with my son. He's been sick and tomorrow he just wants to relax and I'm fine with that. In just two months he has matured into a wonderful young man. The changes are awesome and he is as well. I would love to keep this as an alumni site. After these last two months I feel like this is an extended family. Thanks to everyone!

Hi all, Did you drive on base this morning to meet your sailor? Our son mentioned about getting their early to see them march up to the chapel. He got their earlier than what he told us this morning, so we didnt see. But he wants us to be their a little earlier tomorrow morning. Do we need to show the parking pass? It has been a great weekend with him. He is still a little sick, but seemed a little better today. He had watch duty tonight, so had to be back early. but that is ok, just glad he was not a grad and go, and we get extra time. He didnt want to go into Chicago, since he has been there before. He was concerned about gettng back on time, since he had watch, He just wanted to go out and eat, and find a mall. So spent some time at Gurnee MIlls Mall, (Nice mall).. and spent time at hotel. He and his fiancee were able to make some wedding plans, Looking forward to some time tomorrow before we have to head home. He leaves on Wed for his Sub school, but will not start class for a few weeks, Found out he has to go tthrough 2 seperate sub school trainings, and will graduate in late January. He will then be on to A school. Everyone have safe travels home, love this to be an alumi site, look forward to staying in touch and hearing how all of your sailors are doing.

I can't believe how much my son has matured in < 8 weeks! All 4 generations got to spend Friday and Sat. with him. We stayed at the LaQuinta (or something like that). Beautiful place and reasonably priced. We actually had no problems getting into PIR. We had 8 people. So nice to have met Alex's mom and auntie. So sad when we had to say good bye. My mom spent a haul at the NEX. Sweatpants, sweatshirts, t-shirts and a mug. Got to see alot of people marching in the blue camies. And a feww getting yelled at...Actually felt sorry for them. My son fly's out Wed. Best luck to the SARS and all the new sailors! Thanks for your ongoing friendship.

Dear Ones,
We got to spend about 7 hours with our son yesterday. He wanted Steak for supper. So we ate a light lunch then hung out at the hotel ALL afternoon. Steak dinner then back to RTC. This morning we met at the airport at 5:30 and got those gate passes. I heard about those on here so thank you for posting that. Keep reminding future parents about that. We were able to wait with him until he actually boarded at 8:55. He called tonight and he is at his base in CA. He is the Reserves so he should be home in March. Looks like he will turn 19 in CA.

I am having the best weekend...and guess what Robin's son and my son are like pals...now how cool is that...lol!!! Boy were we surprised and were they surprised!! We spent the day in downtown Chicago. We had a great time especially at the Nike store which seemed to be doing a brisk business involving new sailors. It was so fun! My scooter is holding up well...and keeps charging forward...lol!! My sailor talks incessantly...lol!! It is so funny to hear him!!

Hi everyone, what a wonderful weekend! It was so great meeting so many of you! I ran into some of you everywhere! At PIR, at our get together, at the Ramada smoking in the cold, at the NEX, and again this morning waiting for our sailors to arrive at the chapel!

My dear high school friend and retired Navy officer arranged for me to sit at the reviewing stand! I must say, I had the best seat in the house! I hope you all got to see my shoes! My daughter said all the females in her division want a pair! Lol. I may just get her a pair for fun at Christmas!

I had a wonderful time and sadly, am back in Florida now already missing my girl again. It was so good to spend time with her. Like so many others, she too is sick. I hope she goes to get something for it before she leaves on Tuesday.

Let's all keep this site alive as alumni. Lynne, I promise tomorrow I will be sure to add a picture or two to my profile!

I'm so proud to be a Navy Mom! Love and hugs to you all!
