Hope every one is having a good January, it's snowing here in Indiana, not too bad though. Saturday is the big play off game for the Colts and we have tickets!!! So excited. That should break up some of the winter doldrums......... how is everyone doing?

KDP,

I know what you mean...my daughter was stranded in DC and couldn't get back to base. But at least we got to see her. One of the ladies on the IS group said her son camped out at the airport for 3 days, trying to get home to CA from VA, but never made it.

I wonder if our sailors know each other?? My daughter was in DIV 951, so if they do, it is probably since they have been in VA.

My daughter is loving A-school...totally has her priorities straight too...she went down and bought herself an electric piano! She is going to teach herself how to play piano while she is in Virginia. And if I know her...she probably will!

She found a church she really liked (off base). It's called "The Wave", (contemporary christian).

I sure do miss all the activity there used to be on here; but I guess we have all moved on. Hope everyone is having a happy new year.

Valerie, sorry so long getting back to you and everyone else.  Yes I did join that group.....There are some with questions and I've answered to the best of my ability....and not as exciting as our group :)

Lynne....check it out......Hope all had somewhat of a happy holiday...I'm catching up on your comments and sorry to hear of the burps in our commercial airlines....there is truly something wrong with some of those people....my son got home and got home early!!   What a surprise.....problem was going back to base.....VA closed when he was supposed to leave because of the blizzard and then 2 more tries and he was finally able to get back 3 days later!!!  With hardly a helping hand from the "customer reps"!!!!  What a disappointing group of people and especially when they knew he's military!!!!   Live and learn!!  Happy New Year All and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Hi,  after several delays, my sailor finally made it out of Providence last night, and made it home.  We are enjoying our time so much.  He and is finacee or busy making wedding plans, he is hoping to  have enough leave saved up after his A school, to come home and get married.  He is changed in so many ways, but he also the same young man we saw leave that first time back in Sept.  He said it seemed a little weird being home, and he loved sleeping in his big bed instead of the bunk.  lol...

shiner txgal.  what a special time with your son, just got so excited for you, just reading your post.

Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Year
