Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ok we finallly got a call from our son yesterday to tell us he was a sailor. Will be heading to GL tonight on Delta. Congrats to all the new sailor families out there.

good morning family. Hope all of you slept well. My wife mentioned that i would be getting a call from her around 1200 and another at 1700. Is the does anyone know the significance of those calls. She went through Battlestations last night and finished today.

well I am up earlier than was expecting can't sleep from all the excitement. MIght as well get ready to go....Can't wait to see my son the sailor. how cool does that sound!!!

7:00am is not a good time to get into indianapolis !!! OMG people can't drive. My stomache is a milkshake. Don't they understand the are in the way of a momma bear and her cub. Pray we will be out of this soon !

I think I remember that Angie (works on GL base) posted that there is construction going on around RTC, but there are well-marked detour signs. You may want to allow extra time for this.

Sooo....Lynne....and others already in GL..how many times do you think you will drive by RTC and just stare, knowing that your new sailors are in there but you can't get to them yet???? I confess....when I was up there....several times...and only several because we didn't get into town until late on Thurs....
it would have been many more otherwise! :-)

Can't wait to see pictures posted on here from PIR! Congrats to all of you!
Bravo ZULU! Remember, arrive EARLY tomorrow morning at PIR...you won't regret it....don't forget ID, gate pass, and cameras! Oh, and for those who may not have ordered the PIR DVD (or your sailors didn't), please be sure to do that after PIR in the NEX. SO worth it. You can see your sailor up close when they pass in front of the "review stand." That was the only way I saw mine....never could see him during PIR. :-(
