FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I read somewhere that backpacks and tote bags not allowed at PIR.

Can anyone confirm this?

well I decided to take my Yorkie as a surprise to go see my son and I just told her unfortunately she is ready to go right now...she is pawing at me, whining, like what are you waiting for...let's get a move on....lol

As I read thru the posts, I am so thankful to have been a part of this family! What a blessing to know that people all over the country are praying for our recruits! Makes me teary! Which I keep doing again, just like when he first left!

I keep jumping every time the phone rings! Sure hope they went thru last night, and not tonight! I don't want to do this twice! I will keep the candles burning and the prayers lifted for everyone!

Calling on my folks in 356...there is a mom who can't go to PIR and she wants someone to hug and congradulate her son...who is willing to step up to the plate and take a sign and ask their recruit in that division to help them find that young sailor...I know there is someone....you are good people...
