Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Happy Thanksgiving To All. It's gonna be a long day.I'm sure this is the first of many holidays we won't be together. I am fighting the tears. I hope to get a call at some point today. We will all be reunited in a week. GOD BLESS, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Happy Thanksgiving every one !
I am having a very ruff day today. Did not sleep well last night. I know I will be seeing my son in a week but I miss him so much all I have been doing today is trying to hold back tears. I keep thinking about what he wrote -that he was just going to stay on the ship, study and not participate in Thanksgiving. This makes me even sadder. I am hoping once the rest of the family gets here my mood can brighten. I plan on recording best wishes from the family to my recruit to play for him when we see him.
Thanks for letting me be a part of this group. I am very grateful to be able to share my thoughts with Moms going through the same thing. It's a great comfort to know these feelings aren't crazy!

Wonderful news, so happy for all of you. I hope we all get phone calls tomorrow, I have missed two from my SR and have not spoke to him since his scripted call when he first arrived at GL. Happy Thanksgiving, I am full of gratitude for the many blessings in my life!
