For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Splash- Yes they are stick on's. I made a mistake with one ribbon and couldn't get the letter off without damaging the ribbon, so I had to start over. I tried all sorts of things to letter the ribbon and the stick on letters worked the best

The VC or USS Yorktown is directly adjacent to Midway Ceremonial Drill Hall and the parking structure for PIR. So if this is where pick up is then you will enter RTC through Gate 8 off of Ohio Street from Buckley.

I believe the letter is your "Vehicle Gate Pass". I will research it more. But you may always call PAO or email them with questions.
Yes, you should have your vehicle registration or rental agreement for entry.
Security in the Gate Shack should direct the flow of traffic and I am sure the path will be coned off with other Security along the way to direct you.
You most likely will be going to the Visitors Center for pick up. That is where I have seen it done in the past.
