I am having a really rough time this morning. Can't seem to keep the tears back. My son was part of the county sheriff's office explorer program for 4 years. He traveled all over the country and even Canada for competitions. The program teaches them about police work and they even get to ride with deputies. Anyway he would be gone a week or so each time it was out of state. I should be used to his being gone with no letters or phone calls but this time has already been the longest he has been away. I started my own on line business just before he left so I could keep busy but I can't keep my mind on my work. I am at the point I wouldn't care if I didnt get to talk to him as long as he at least called and talked to his Dad or left a message on the answering machine. I even sent him a phone card. He is my youngest of 7 and I miss him so very much!
Barbie- We are driving from Tampa Bay area- Florida.
Good morning everyone :)
Catmom509. We went to DEPs with him his last time. The recruiter saw that I was already near tears so he got up and handed me the brochure. Had it not been for this site I would not know anything Thank GOD for Navyformoms !!!!!!!
Q's mom...you win! LOL It really is not funny but you brought back some memories for me. I had a 14 yr old girl...3 yr old twins and a newborn. And a husband that did not help at all. I feel your pain!!! FYI...one of the twins is my SR.
I can't wait to meet all of you!
I have a 11 hour drive from Pa with a 10 month old, 14 year old girl my mother and husband. Yeah (can you all hear the sarcasm in my voice) LOL!!
Did you see that it might be almost 70 next week in GL? Good for them! Thinking about my daughter today and wondering if she is having her wisdom teeth out or not. Today would be the day! My baby!
I have a 13 hour drive! Were coming from Jersey. Were staying at the Navy Lodge too! I can't wait to meet everyone there!
navymom and splash,
We're staying at Navy Lodge too! Wish I had a 7 hour drive like Splash! We'll be driving from Texas...about 18 hours. We love road trips and since I'm from the northeast, I trust my driving in the winter more than I trust airlines getting me to PIR in December! :) Have a blessed day everyone! Praying those who haven't received letters yet will have them waiting in your mailboxes TODAY!
