I didn't receive a call yesterday so I assume my D passed his PFA. That is a huge relief to me! He missed the last one by 15 seconds. This is our last weekend before we see our sailors!!! Susan

Marylandmom my son was definitely one of them! We're from Texas (It might sleet for one day every 3 years) that is too funny cause mine mentioned that and he said they couldn't play in it :(

Vicki:  Lynne is exactly right.  He still could call on Monday if he has not passed the PFA yet.  But they still get more chances...and most DO pass before PIR.  So let's pray that all is well with him, but if you get that call, then post here so we can all pray for him through the week. They can even go through BattleStations with the next PIR group (Thurs night) if need be and be at PIR...sleepy and in the balcony, but in uniform and there.

I received a letter from S yesterday !! Written on the 5th. he said they havent been getting any phone calls just because the RDC's said they dont need any. That they were spoiled in the beginning. That he sure misses getting those. Also that the 1st snow was on the 4th. He said it was funny to see such a look of joy on grown a-s mens faces because he had never seen snow ! They went walking to the drill hall and everytime he heard someone slip he knew they were from the South or Cali ! He said the walkway wasnt slick at all, he could have run accross it in no-grip shoes and been fine. They had no idea how to balance themselves on it. I hope this recount doesnt offend anyone. I really wonder if he got called out on smiling at any time this was going on. His humor level is very high !

Hi Lynne,  Thanks fro the reassurance. I really needed that.

He has done well on his other PFA he was in very good shape he was in the delayed entry program and was jogging 6 miles a day before bootcamp.  My son hardly ever got sick. I really was worried when I heard pneumonia. I had a friend pass away from it when we were in our 20's  so that made me even more fearful. In his last letter he seemed down and it is so hard not to be there to bring his spirits up.

kathy...good for you...my son has helped me a lot because I took an antibiotic that the maker failed to disclose interactions for  and it caused me to lose the use of my legs...so I understand your desire to see your son have the opportunity to have time for himself.  I will say that boot camp built my son's confidence and he is now in P-cola and having the time of his life...he is on hold for classes...so does his duty stuff but jet skis, kayaks, bowls, goes to the movies, etc...he is very happy.

Vicki..if that 3rd PFA was yesterday...I think you would have heard something already...I could be wrong...but they use that "call" as a motivation....it is a scripted call where they basically tell you they are in danger of not graduating...and it is very sad...and scary...and most of them do end up passing...but I think you would have gotten it...it just depends on when that PFA is...if its not until Monday or Tuesday then that is a different story...did he have any trouble with the first two??
