well Ladies, I have been up since 430 am reading all the updates from yesterday. I have been crying most of the time reading !! I feel so connected to everyone here, that when you post all the letter stuff and your feelings I am so overwelmed by how close our emotions are connected. I did not receive a letter yesterday and havent caught up with the gf yet ! So happy to hear the updates that all of you got !! Very excited for PIR. Next week this time I will be asleep in some hotel midstream of my travels to see my son and to meet all of you !!
It's so exciting to read about the letters. :)
Kate, this is very cute about Mommy.
Sharon, how awesome that you get a sailor for christmas. lol
Susan, I will be praying for D tomorrow. ((hugs))
Tamidrake, that's so nice that he wants you to get a good seat.
Wendi, that's cute that she is counting down the hours.
Anita, that's is a fabulous letter.
H said she didn't know if she got a ribbon for live fire. She said she tried 3 times.
Wow all these letters are awesome - Awesome Susan I told you D would make the PFA!!! I will pray hard tonight.
Jacque your son will get a letter to you as well. Just hold on...
7 more days and we will all see each other and out recruits!!!
Got mail from my daughter today...actually got 2 letters from my son and 1 from my daughter. She address all my envelope Mommy with a heart with it, never my name...she is too funny. She says this is her last letter writing before she graduates. She took pics and will have some for me. She cannot wait to just relax get some regular sleep. She gave me special instructions as to where she would like me to sit. I am so excited...less than a week before I am in Great Lakes.
I got a letter today too! He said Battlestations are Monday. His last PFA is tomorrow and he is 100% sure he can pass the run. He said Hell Week wasnt bad, just busy. He said that firefighting was this week and he was given the job of working the nozzle. He said that means he gets to aim the hose at the fire. He seemed pretty excited about it. He missed the live fire because of his pink eye but that the RDC's are trying to find time for him to do it. At the end he told me where he wants to have lunch and dinner when we drive through Ohio, lol. It was sooooo great to get a letter, it was the longest one I've gotten! Susan
CJ's mom..they all see a classification/career counselor while they are there...and some are sent to different rates if they are in a rate that is overstaffed but that is rare. I can tell you from experience that they learn more abut the various jobs in the navy while at boot camp and do get some ideas but other jobs. My son sent a letter much like that, but in the end kept his same rate...so he is probably thinking aloud to some extent. Remember he really has no one but you to voice these thoughts to...so hang in there.
H mentioned shots too but it was mixed in with taking about pictures so that's what I thought it was. What shots do they get now?
