((HUGS)) to all of you. My tears are bitter sweet. I can't say enough how glad I am to have found this site, not only for support but to also realize that i am normal and not a freak, lol. My husband now realizes that this site has been not only my saving grace but his as well. By having all of you, N4M's has saved him from every paranoid and super emotional episode I have had, lol. I couldn't ask for a better husband to support me in this. He has also reminded me he misses him too! :)
My travel plans are in full force as we will leave Florida in a mini van with 5 kids in tow, pray for me PLZ!! My kids are so excited to see thier big brother, what a great example he has set for them. I hope they get to see snow. Just not to much.
I have a pink scarf and hope to find a warm red sweater. We don't have much to choose from here in FL. (not complaining) I will probably get one when we get to Illinois.
Does anyone know if there are any (indoor) places to take kids and Teenagers. We are staying in Great Lakes until Sat eve. and will need to entertain them a bit. We are planning on heading into the City but worry about the cold.
I hope to meet you all and finally put a face to the Screenname.

Bless you all and our Recruits (soon to be official Sailors)!!!!

Enjoyed all the posts! Although wishing I hadn't read while at work since I'm rather choked up - especially that one you wrote Susan! I hope you are feeling better. Sometimes you just need a good cry. I've joined our Alumni group - what a Grand idea! It will make it easier to keep in touch and we can schedule live chats! Just called to confirm my rental is in place for the trip to GL. So, So looking forward to the special event!

Penny, you deserve many ((hugs)).

jfarm, that is so true about military moms. We experience different worries, accomplishments and concerns than other people. This website is a life saver for us all.

It makes me feel better to know I'm not alone on this emotional rollercoaster. Only other moms know what it feels like to have their kids grow up & know there's nothing you can do to stop it from happening! Only moms with kids in the military know how we feel, that's why I am so glad to have this website. I think every one of you ladies are wonderful & I'm so proud of all of our recruits!

Betsy, think the alumni group is an awesome idea!

Susan, my girls are 15 & 14, leaving me one right after the other! I envision myself clinging to the youngest's graduation gown. LOL!!

TysMom, at least your boys didn't say you'd be "the CRAZY cat lady that lives down the street"!

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement.

I understand the empty nest stuff. I have a son in Michigan who I n ever hear from (I did not raise him so I feel it doesn't count) I have another who lives in a group hom for Developmentally handicap adults, and then my oldest who is unemployed right now lives in one room, the CJ is gone,

Lori, ((hugs)) I am almost an empty nester, as well. My oldest son did move back home for a few months after graduating from college, but he will be moving out again in March. Two of my two daughters are in college about 45 minutes away and my oldest daughter lives in MD. So, with my recruit leaving for Pensacola after Christmas, it will be really different and quiety around here too. My husband is working in Maryland now and I'm here in NM, :( NavyForMoms has become my lifeline :)
