Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Lifting up that Navy sister!! Rehab right after a stroke is the best thing for her to work toward full recovery~~ Praying for her, her SR, and her family as they help her through this... Are other members of the family going to the PIR or will another family have this SR with them?

carolb24-I would assume that our boys would be flying together to Goose Creek, SC, but since I haven't heard from him, can't say for sure.

Our Navy Mom facebook group has a huge Christmas project with the help of all our family and friends :) We have been collecting gifts for 300+ kids who have a parent deployed on the Harry S Truman aircraft carrier. Friday we will be shopping for more gifts with money & gift cards people have donated then on Saturday we will be having a wrapping party to wrap the gifts and then delivering the toys/gifts to the kids at their Christmas party on Sunday. It has been so much fun collecting gifts and participating in this project. It's just a bonus that we get to see our Sailors and baby Eastyn and stay with them while we are there. I can't wait to see the faces on these kids when they receive the gifts. i know it is so hard on them to have a parent deployed at Christmas. Many of them are just too young to understand. I know of my friends on this site are also friends and part of my facebook group and we truly appreciate everyone who has helped with this project :) Thanks very much!!!!
