This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Just talked to my son and he is doing good now in school.  He loves his new instructor and the test he failed he took with his new instructor and passed!!!!  He will graduate from school 9/28 and then get to come home for leave.  He is putting in for Hawaii, Cali and Virginia for his next journey, but as we know he will get sent to where the Navy needs him.

Hi all! My BU SeaBee has gone back to Gulfport for ECS then he'll join his new Battalion, 133 wherever they may be!

It was great to have him home for almost 2 weeks, but time with him really flies! And what time we had had to be shared with family and friends, not just with mom & dad. :)

Hope all is well with everyone. Have a great weekend.

new sailors mom.. congrats on the visit!  Where is your Sailor currently at?

Himmie....that is awesome he did that..most would be discouraged to step up and ask that.. Very mature step he took.

Well, to update my son's progress, he asked to get "rolled" back a month.  He failed a lesson test and the re take and went before the ARB and asked to repeat that lesson which is a month long one.  I am proud of him for realizing he needs to spend more time on what is more difficult, but I felt so bad because last week he said it was very stressful for him and he was feeling homesick which didn't help.  He told me that his rate is the 3rd hardest rate in the Navy and he will get through this and so looks like we will be Pensacola bound end of Sept beginning of October.
