For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Because you are family of an active duty military member, airlines will automatically give you a gate pass --- to either see them off or pick them up AT THE GATE! It was AWESOME to find this out and pick up my daughter at the gate when she visited on leave ....

Does anyone know if we can go into the airport at all when we take our sailor? I do not want to do the out the car door departure!! We are fortunate that he is flying out of O'Hare and we live just an hour away, I just have so many worries. He is fine and excited, I am a wreck!!

Well my Hubby graduates this week. It was supposed to be tomorrow but it looks like it might have been changed or pushed back a day, and they keep changing what day he is gonna get to fly out, or just changing what they are telling him. He was already asleep when I talked to him so I didnt get much out of him lol :) but anyways, He got his orders we are headed to Everett, WA where he will be attached to the USS Lincoln! The ship will change ports to Virginia mid 2012, where it will be drydocked until 2016 if I remember correctly. Fingers crossed we stick with this ship the whole way through that!! But anways, I am sooo ready for him to be home! Already started going through my stuff throwing stuff out and selling stuff I dont need!! We are so excited to finally start our life together!! I graduate this summer from college so I will be free to follow him for awhile and take a much needed break from school!! :)

First I want to say... YEAH for everyone posting again! I think now that our Sailors are starting to venture out and changes are slowly coming,, we will need this group again... Part 2 coming up!
I have not seen my son since PIR either but one of the N4M's went and took me back via Bobble Head! hahahaha It was a riot. She gave me to my son over dinner....that is what N4M friends are for! (Thank u LIfe is Peachy)
Hope everyone keeps us all updated.. its nice to see you all back and to hear where they all are.

Glad to hear everybody is doing ok and some are seeing their Sailors. Just found out today that the new Master Chief changed the rules in Groton, and they cant take leave after BESS....thank goodness we are planning a trip there for his graduation. Sure wish he could have come home with us after graduation, then I found out he has 2 more schools before A school...TCNO & ATT ....so who knows when he will be able to come home for a visit

Our son flew 3,000 miles for a few hours visit on a weekend liberty.
Now he is back in Nuclear Power A school in South Carolina.
It was great to see him, even for such a short time. They change and mature.

Checking in......Looks like a lot have seen their sailors again since PIR. I haven't seen mine since PIR and trying to plan a trip down to Pensacola for his graduation 8/30. With the cost of airfare and the fact Amtrak doesn't go to Pensacola anymore (since 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit) looks like we will be renting a car and driving there.
My son hit Phase 3 this week and spen yesterday at the beach on a jet ski with a fellow shipmate and his wife who flew in for the weekend. He said he had lots of fun and it felt good to finally wear civi clothes.
He says CTN school is very hard and will be glad when the networking class is over. He is ready for the next classes to start.

Hey All....gotta say I am a little jealous that so many of you are seeing your sailors.....but very happy for you as well. My son is still in GL and thinks he will remain there until October then he will be off to C school. We are hoping to get out to see him again before that, I don't think I can wait that long! Take care and hug those sailors!

Thanks, MAMAWALRUS!! I definitely haven't found the connection with other divisions ... and can't find a group for NAS Millington at all. Your Sailors are all continually in my prayers ....
