cathyo-that was so beautiful,, I cried reading it... We are special and we do have a bond only a mother will understand,  That is why it is such a blessing that we are here, together.  If I had to endure these emotions alone I think it would be so much harder.

mapakids-My son was frustrated as well.  He did tell me about them getting in trouble, he left his military ID in his blouse and a bunch of other had things left out and not put away and a bunch of other stuff. He said the IT sucked, He said being 800 they have are REALLY tough on them and I know it is for a reason. he is feeling the pain from some knee problems flaring up. He wants to get to the workouts and he said its not really happeing to much yet so ............BUT he did say time was going by so fast. I wish the guys were able to talk to each other to encourage each other and maybe all our 804 boys could help each other knowing we mom are helping each other.

Still hoping for a phone call soon... anyone in ship09/div069 received calls from their recruit yet??  Last Thursday's letter, the 1st & only letter received from our son, was great... but it's Thursday again, another whole week, and lack of Contact with him is getting to me today... 'Lord, give me Patience--- but Hurry!'    So glad for those who have received letters & calls recently!                 847... 847 area code--- I'll be Ready!!!

Dear Mapakids, I will say a special prayer that things get better for your son.  I know that feeling of hurting when they hurt too well.  Moms have that special bond that enables us to feel their emotions.  Here's something a friend sent me  many years ago that I have re-read countless times through my "mom journey".....

When God Made Mothers

By the time God made mothers, he was into his sixth day of working overtime.  An Angel appeared and said "Why are you spending so much time on  this one?" And God answered and said, "Have you seen the spec sheet on her?  She has to be completely

washable, but not plastic, have 200 movable parts, all replaceable, run on black coffee and leftovers, have a lap that can hold three children at one time and that disappears when she stands up, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart, and have six pairs of hands."

The Angel was astounded at the  requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No Way!" said the Angel.

God replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem, It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers must have!" And that's just on the standard model?" the Angel asked.  God nodded in agreement, "Yep, one pair of eyes are to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing, even though she already knows.  Another pair in the back of her head are to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can. And the third pair are here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word."

The Angel tried to stop God. "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish.." "But I can't," God protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own  heart. She already heals herself when she is sick and can feed a family of six on a pound of  hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower!"

The Angel  moved closer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft", the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish." "Will she be able to think?", asked the Angel. The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate."

The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak with this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one." "That's not a leak", God said, "That's a tear!" "What's the

Tear for?" the Angel asked. God said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief, and  her pride."  The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything. WOMEN are truly amazing!"

mapakids:  By week 4 of actual training, things start to get better, so he should be getting close.  You will start getting more positive feedback then...they have their "goal" in sight then and know they can make it.  Hang in there!

Himmie.....Happy (belated) Birthday...sorry you didnt get the birthday call you had hoped for, but I'm praying that you get one really soon.  (Oh, and the mail order is you, lexsmom and then me....:-)

Arwen...thanks for the info, I was just curious because there was no info on RTC site other than the list of positions (and their acronyms, of course).

Mapakids....I know how you feel as a Mom...I think it will get better, I'm sure they are going through some tough stuff (mentallly and physically).  I guess it has to be that way....prayers and support will get them all through....35 days....
