This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Eileen: On the pictures, I would print them on a sheet of paper, front and back...you get more on that way and it is easier for them to store in their limited space.
Here are the brother divisions for this PIR group:
63+64, 65+66, 67+68, 69+70, 71+72, 73+74
They train together with their brother divisions.
Bexwest..he will feel better soon. I didn't think my son wanted to continue this either after I got his first letter. But the one I got today was much better. Then I got his phone call and he said it's going much better. I was thinking he thought he made the wrong decision also, but I was incorrect. He said he can do this and he'll kick butt doing whatever they give him. Write the letters of encouragement and he'll realize what he's doing is a great experience.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I almost missed his call. He called me cell when I was at work, about 10 mins before I left work, and I was in the bathroom so I didn't hear it. Then driving home I almost didn't hear it because the radio was too loud. FYI..keep the phone ringer loud or turn the radio down lol. He did call the house and talk to my husband too. That was cool. He said he had till 1600 to finish making calls. I talked about 10 mins but that's okay. I just wanted to hear his voice.
He's passed all the tests they've given him...folding, making his rack, shining boots and the UMCJ test. I'm a proud mama.
I finally got another letter...and I got a phone call! Yay!!!! He sounds so good. He said they've had some IT and that wasn't fun, but he survived. His first letter he sounded so homesick, but in this letter (dated 12/31) and talking to him, he sounded 100 times better.
The food is awesome. He said "you know what's good? Peanut butter with bananas. They eat a lot of peanut butter there." I've told him before that it was good, but he didn't believe me.
They got their dress uniforms yesterday. He had one cavity filled on Jan 27, then two more today. He didn't have to have his wisdom teeth pulled though. I sent him a phone card, but he had already bought himself one at NEX. Oh well, he can use them whenever he gets another call or take it to FL for A-school.
He said if they really get on the RDC's nerves, they get to "make it rain" or get an "ice cream social". Making it rain is closing all the doors and windows and doing IT until everything gets wet from the condensation and water drips from the ceiling. The ice cream social is when they put an ice cream bar on a plate and IT until it melts. Luckily they haven't had to do that yet.
Other than that, he sounds good and I am sooo happy right now. A letter and phone call in one day. I'm on cloud 99 right now. He's only gotten one letter from me so far, I've written like crazy, but it takes a lot longer to get to him than one does coming from him to me. They have all the ships and divisions that have to be sorted. His was postmarked 1/3, so it only took two days to get here, IL to MI.
Thanks for whoever was doing the mail/phone call dance lol
Letters and calls will come to others. I didn't think I'd get one either. Wow, I am soo happy.
Ok he called right back and we got 15 mintues and said the RDC made them answe a question if they wanted to call back! I will get back on and tell you all about call but have to go and get my grandsons from daycare,, OMG I am a mess right now LOL LOL LOL
