This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

LOL My son put Japan as his first choice, and sub bases in the Pacific as his other choices.   I think he has a deep interest in Japanese girls culture and wants to see the girls world.

Hey Ladies, check out today's Zits comic.  I think it pretty much says how we all feel.

So what spurred the sudden interest in Japan, our son has been subs, subs, subs since signing up for Nukes a year ago, and now maybe Carriers "because I could be stationed in Japan".  Must be some news or common knowledge going around right now...

You know I was feeling a little down when my son told me 2 minutes after graduation that he was going to have to leave unexpectedly @ 2:00 am for a school. I was disappointed for us but especially for him. I went to bed that night and said a prayer that something would happen and we would get to spend more time with him. Well, we got a call from him at 8:00 that morning saying his plane was not leaving til 5:00 that evening and could we come to the airport and spend the day? We were so happy. While we were sitting in the terminal a lady came up to him and said "Thank You Sailor" my son looked surprised as if he was thinking "for what?" it was the first time someone a complete stranger had done that. It really touched him & us. Gave true meaning to the graduation ceremony and the sacrifices our men in all branches of the service are making for us. We are so proud!

Ditto BB - my co-worker (ex Navy) spent time in Japan and I actually spoke to him about it today.  He said it was THE BEST!  He is not one for sharing details about the Navy, but I try to pry info from him as I can.  He agreed that his mom was probably a basket case during those times, so he understands.  He assured me that Japan was great though.
