Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Battlebuddy-I have met several moms in my area that have boys in Japan, and they LOVE it, one mom is even planning a trip there. They too had mixed feelings when the orders came through, but they are feeling much better now that their sons are happy, hang in there!

Been awhile since I have posted here. My Sailor is doing good but is on hold and waiting to class up. He is homesick and cant wait to get to phase 2. Patience Grasshopper. Overall he is good just bored.

Sent my son his first care package last Wednesday and he got it yesterday. My mom also sent him one too. Mine had stuff from home that he wanted and some "extras" that only mom would put in a box. My mom sent him a box full of snacks and quick meals for him and his roommate. It felt so good to be able to send one off to him. He said he finally got his security badge yesterday and headed off to the mail room where the packages were waiting for him. He said it was the best day ever!!!

eaglemom....I was told the same thing that Life is Peachy said when I ordered the DVD....it will arrive in 5-6 weeks.
I just ordered another $142 worth of photos this morning! (Everybody in our families want one!) I wish they would have given us more photos and less frames with Package A.....I think most will put the picture in a "real" frame anyway. Oh well, its definitely worth the money :-)

Has anybody received the dvd (photo pak) of PIR? Ours ordered and paid for it but has not arrived. He got the pictures on PIR. Nothing else.Tried calling the number on receipt and gotten no answer. I have tried for the past 3 hours-847-578-6289. Nobody is answering on the so-called 'Hot Line'....It is getting frustrating with no answer. I left message 2 hours ago and not heard anything yet.
