This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Hey ladies, I have been gone all day. just got home, am going to work on scarves tonight, I like Mikki's scarves, I will probably do some like that and some other variations. Thanks for being so Pro-Active on the scarf project everyone!

Battlebuddy- my former Navy husband said to tell your son to hang in there.

Not all of his experiences will be like Boot Camp. It will get alot easier.

My son's answer's to the General Questionaire:

Folding class? Yes but it is not a class and if my things aren't folded correctly they are thown everywhere

Ironing? No. I don't iron there is only a group of 8 in my division that iron

Stencil all your clothes. Yes everything

Have you learned to sew? No ):

Blisters? No :)

Is there anything you need from me? MORE LETTERS

Sock? It's the sock with my wallet but we don't carry them around as  much.

Are you studying ? Yes,  I'm studying. Idle time is study time. My face is always in my Training Guide

Who do you love the most? Momma <3

What kind of mail can you get? Pictures

Did you get in trouble? Yes I did the first day. I almost didn't make it and almost lost it on the 42 hous without sleep...also passed out on my shots....so yea

I wish I could make things better for him.....

battlebuddy:  Many of them feel that way in the beginning...don't worry...if they LOVE it in early bc, something is not right!  HA!  The RDC's don't want them to love the way they are handling it...they want them to do more than they think they can do...because they can!  So their methods make is a bit uncomfortable, but they get the results they are looking for and your sailor is better because of it...

Got a letter again today...and I am a little concerned.....This one is to me... dated 12/24/2010

Hey mom. I'm just now getting your letters...X mas eve...but they all make me smile. My recruiter wasn't exacly honest with me about joining, but it's ok. You probably won't get a phone call for about another 3 weeks and I hate it here. Want to come home.....but can't because I need to be here to set myself up for  my life. I don't see myself staying for 20 years in the Navy unless my job is kick a@@. But mom I just want you to know that I love you and miss you alot. I miss Tony and Liver too. Tell them to send me letters. Miss you. Merry X-mass...<3 u

I got the questionaire back too.... I will post his answers a little later on tonight. I'm feeling sad that he hates it there...but proud he knows that he needs to be there.

@HIMMIEMOM - I'll go see how many scarves I can make out of the material I have (I need four of my own) and then offer up making the rest for the moms here that cant sew (you will be on my list).

@Angies - do you want me to make some for you & bob &? let me know either here or FB

If anyone is going to make them and sell them count me in!!! Me and a sewing machine might put me in the hospital.  I know some of you were making samples but not sure if you were going to sell them also.  My division is brown.  I know Lexmom is making some.

Just got back from shopping, Found yelloe fleece on sale at walmart for 2.79 per yard, I bought the last of what they had. Just under 3 yards.

Mikki, your scarves look great! Nicely done! I am going to work on mine today and will post when I am done. Thanks for sharing your great ideas!!

Josh'smom - I'm not a fan of pink and yellow - probably looks kind of like lavender and yellow. You might try a wider black ribbon behind a pink ribbon, or luck out and find one like mine with the black borders.
