This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Hello ladies, I RECEIVED MY FIRST LETTER TODAY! Sorry, just a little overly excited. My husband is doing well, he said that they gave them some called "Holiday Routine" where they had 6 hours to do what they want in their barracks and he finally had time to write me! He has to get his wisdom teeth out, and he's not too happy lol. He also said they gave everyone a shot in the "ass" and nobody could walk well for like 2 days. He also said the food is AWESOME, is how he put it lol. He's mastering folding his clothes correctly, and making his bed in 8 mins. The day the letter was written he said he was able to take a shower for longer than 2 minutes and that was amazing. Their all starting to come together as a division but he said there are some "dumb motherfuckers" (sorry for the curses). He said there were 74 there to start and now their down to 68 because people just don't pay attention. Otherwise, just the normal stuff of no privacy and personal space that he's trying to get used too. But everyone already knows that part lol.. Just wanted to give everyone an update of how their ladies and gentlemen are doing! He's really excited for Graduation and to see me and the other family. He said it's going to be an awesome show.
Hope everyone else receives letters soon. :) Keep smiling!
I love reading all the posts....most are upbeat and very positive. That being said, we're all human and so are the SRs, so they are bound to slip up once and awhile. What I love about this site and all the comments, everything is from the heart...it is what it is....and everybody is so supportive, no matter what. N4M is the best therapy ever!
Sneaking out of boot camp....lol I am pretty sure that is like trying to sneak gold out of Fort Knox...not going to happen...lol On the other hand this recruit must be very desperate to leave and that is sad as well.
I am back and healthy finally...sorry I abruptly left you all...please bear with me as I get caught up...I have 100 messages...holy smoly...but I will be around...looking forward to getting caught up to speed with everyone...
Cindy...great news to hear from your son! It is calming, isn't it? Thanks for sharing his thoughts....makes me feel better when I hear positive things from our SRs.
DorriO...I was curious about the "sneak out" thing too....my SR wrote in her letter that most shipmates are working together, but added "Some just don't get it".....unfortunately, its a lesson for all when they don't. (But I know its another one of those important lessons that have to be taught.) You probably will get a letter soon....I'm on east coast and I seem to get mine a day later than those in mid-region.
