This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

aprul: You may want to print the pictures you send on paper...front and back...you can send more that way, takes up less room in his limited-space locker....and it won't draw attention as a THICK envelope.  Just a suggestion!  I did this for my son too when he was there...kind of a collage of pictures....he loved the ones of his dogs!

No call here either. I did get a letter Christmas Eve. That was wonderful. I didn't see anyone else from ship 09 div 068 on here that rec'd phone calls either. Makes you wonder if they're doing something wrong to not be able to make phone calls when other divisions are. I hope not. I'll just keep waiting for more letters. I sent out a bunch, so I know eventually he'll get those. Like I told him in a letter, keep your chin up and it'll get better. That's what I tell myself now. Have a great day everyone. Time will fly and PIR will be here in not time.

After a sad Christmas weekend, I am happy to report that I received a letter today!  It was 5 pages long....postmarked 12/22....she said it was day 2-1.  She said that she doesn't love BC, but she doesn't hate it either.  She said that she is LPO RPO2 for her division (which is something to do with laundry).  She said that she could use a box of band-aids for her feet because her boots rub.  She said that the chow is good and she's hungry all the time (which is a complete switch for her.)  One funny thing, she said that there is a lady who pushes a "goodie cart" in the mess hall, but when one of her shipmates took a cookie, the division got IT.  She said she thinks its a trick! LOL!  All in all, sounds pretty good.  Said that she is keeping her "eye on the prize" (PIR) and to give everyone a hug and kiss.

She said she cant wait to receive mail, so she did not receive the dozens of cards/letters that were sent to her.  I hope she got them by now.

I pray EVERYONE waiting for a letter receives one this week.  Its pure JOY to read their words and know they are well.
