This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

ame7.... yes it is an extra feature on your phone plan...if you have call waiting, caller id, you usually have call forwarding...press 72 # wait for the shakey dial tone then dial the number you want to forward it to....wait for them to answer and you are forwarded to cancel the forward dial 73# from your home phone

Cin....you need to find out if your recruit is a grad and go, and where he is going...because you may be sitting in great lakes for a few days without your sailor...my sons recruiter mentioned a late saturday flight or early sunday, because more than likely he will be shipping out to a school on saturday afternoon

Cin -- A lot of ladies here are staying at the Residence Inn.  My family is staying at Spring Hill Suites for the indoor pool.  But both are supposed to be very good.  There is a meet and greet Thursday night at the Ramada, but this group (PIR 2/11/11) is hosting our own meet and greet at the restaurant Anistasia's too.

We fly in on Thursday and fly out on thw 13th at 8:30 - didn't want to pay for another night at the hotel or miss another day of work.

No "real" letter yet, maybe Santa Claus (mail man) will bring something today, we just got his address Monday, I have mailed out 7 letters/cards!  I am going crazy wondering what he is doing and how he is!  All you ladies hang in there, be strong, thats what I written to him every time, I plan to do the same.  Merry Christmas everyone!

PIR is 02/11/11 so I know everyone will be flying to Great Lakes on 02/10 but when is everyone flying back home? I'm trying to book my flight but I'm not sure when to fly back? I was thinking the morning of 12/14? and where is everyone planning on staying? I looked up hotels nearby the base and I found one 2.5 miles away.

3boysSheryl - I dreamt that I received tons of letters from my recruit too so this morning I ran to the mail box and there was nothing :( I hope to hear from him soon, or at least a call on Christmas Day. Did your recruit mention anything about calling on Christmas?

Ladies... we are now under the 50 day mark!  Woo Hoo

tackjacky...how do you forward home phone to cell?  I'm worried about that too.  Before she left, we discussed calling my cell, but when I got the "I'm here" call, it was my home phone.  She may have been rushed, tired, stressed (all of the above), but if I miss her call, I'll be so upset!  Is it an added feature on your phone?

so I finally decided to read and heed the 'Rules of Engagement for Communicating with your recruit." Oops, I havent been playing by the rules, I guess. So I changed my photo so my recruit is not in it. So now my lovely daughter-in-law and I are in it, looking like floating heads. We must have both been wearing dark clothes!!!
