I GOT A LETTER YaY!!!!! I had just come out of my test and the dr said I was fine no major concerns and my daughter called and said we got a letter from my son.... OH HAPPY DAY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! he said he didn't have long the Cheif was on a war path, but that he past his pst and that there are 109 in his div. WOW said that they are the biggest on base. told me he missed us and to write lots. also his girlfriend got a letter and he told her they tell them everyday that there girlfriends are going to leave them lol. I find it funny because he knew that before he went in they would do that. I hope you all got a letter as well or will get one in the next day or two.

Ok...so when the heck am I gonna get a letter??? It's driving me bananas. I got the form letter but dang it, I want to get a real letter from him. Aaghh!!

Now that I got that off my chest, lol, @ mamaw...I rsvp'd for the M&G at the Ramada, but I don't see where you want us to put our first names. I'll also keep checking to see if you heard from the guy at Residence so we can call ASAP.

Also, what did I read about the yellow scarf thing? I can't find that post anymore. Can someone let me know please?

Who has one of their loved ones in ship 09 div 068? Just wondering.

I found this on the US Navy Recruit Traingin Command Facebook Page for anyone who has wondered what awards are given and how they are earned. I found it very informative.
For each Training Group, there are six awards that can be earned:

MILITARY EXCELLENCE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit who best exemplifies the qualities of enthusiasm, devotion to duty, military appearance and behavior, self-disci...pline and teamwork.

NAVY LEAGUE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit whose enthusiasm, supportive attitude, and willingness to help others during their training period exceeded Navy training standards.

MILITARY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit whose meritorious performance in recruit training demonstrated exceptional professionalism, maturity, integrity and leadership.

MILITARY ORDER OF THE WORLD WARDS AWARD OF MERIT: Presented to the graduating recruit who meritorious performance in recruit training demonstrated motivation and dedication to duty.

UNITED SERVICES ORGANIZATION SHIPMATE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit whose enthusiasm, supportive attitude and willingness to help others during their training period exceeded Navy training standards.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit who maintained the highest academic and assessment standards throughout all phases of training. Awarded after closeout of test two.
