This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Yeah for Anistasia's!!

QUESTION:  Totally different subject -- my son has an important bill to pay that is due in like 3 weeks.  Before he left for RTC, he thought he could pay it from there.  I highly doubt it.  So, I think I should pay it, but I don't want to "enable" him.  Does anyone know the answer to this question??  Thanks!!

Hello everyone.  I am in contact with Anastasia's to arrange a M&G there.  They are more than happy to help us out.  PLEASE do not duplicate efforts, as I don't want to drive them nuts!  I plan to call back this afternoon to get more details on what they will offer, etc.  For now, here is a link to their website which includes their menu, for you to look over.  Please refer to the Waukegan location.  The photos on their site focus on the bar area, rest assured they do have a separate dining room which is family friendly.  Please do voice your opinion on the matter. The goal is to try to accommodate everyone and make this an enjoyable experience for all.

Feel free to friend me and make suggestions.  Mamawalrus has been a huge help with this as well!  I'm with Division 804.

ok, thx!  I will stick with the 1 brm suite and the studio, just give the green light when we should call and book!

Comment by mamawalrus on December 21, 2010 at 2:09pm

Bex@ yes the suite has a door to make the bedroom private per say,, the studio in the one bedroom is more of an open floor plan,

sounds better than the Ramada to me!!

Comment by mamawalrus on December 21, 2010 at 1:56pm

Me again,,,, sorry..  just got messge from Proudmom and she said Anastasias is more then willing to book us in a private room for a M & G...Thanks Proudmom!  It will be kid friendly as well so if you have children or teens this will be great!

Comment by mamawalrus on December 21, 2010 at 1:53pm

Ok here is something else to think about!  The M & G was set up at the Ramado for the 10th.  There will lots of people including people that are NOT Navy.  I personally kind of dont like-it takes away from our celebration but with that said....We are the group of 2/11/11, what do you all think? One idea was to originally start there and maybe move to Anastasia's for more private talking,, I can try and set that up .  But I want this to be a group decision.  I would like to try and figure out a way for our group to be recognize each other that night as well??? One mom said that all brought oreos and a when they saw moms walk in with them they knew! LOL  Any ideas??????   Ramada will be dark and crowded so we need a special way to know who us 2/11/11 mamas and family are!

Sailing Hi- Some groups have a meet and greet at other locations. The one at the Ramada will be held with or without the N4M members. They hold it for all families who have a sailor graduating from boot camp no matter where they are staying. For the one at the Ramada you don't have to organize drinks or food. The Ramada provide all the snacks, you can bring a soda or water with you or you can purchase drinks there. Those staying at the Ramada are given 2 free drink vouchers. Some groups start out at the Ramada and then go to another place together and some groups have had a N4M meet and greet seperate from the Ramada. I was there in the summer so I am not sure how many non Navy people would be in there this time of year. There weren't very many at all back in July. Maybe this group can start a discussion above and determine what you all decide to do together.

Mamawalrus:  I found a link to the Res Inn floorplans - does this look right to you?

www.marriott.com/residence-inn/travel.mi#/tour/floor-plans/1-bedroo...

this looks like the 1bdrm suite has a door, and then a sleeper sofa in the living area?

Comment by mamawalrus on December 21, 2010 at 1:34pm

sorry when I listed prices on the suites I had a typo... on the 1 Bdr suite is DOES have open floor plan...they all have sofa sleepers as well as the beds,, so more bodies can fit into these rooms.. They do not charge per person!!!!!
