This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

@ himmiemom...my husband left on December 7th, 2010.

@ ProudNavyWife...I know exactly how you feel it has been one of the hardest things we have done as a couple but I know in the long run it will all be worth it!

I am so glad everyone is getting their forms letters. I can let you all know that on my husbands ship and division they got their letters and were able to write back yesterday. I know this because my husband did so good they gave him a phone call home. It was so good to hear his voice and I hope you all get one! We got diconnected after a bit so when that happened I cried but he said everything was good.

So start looking for your letters later this week and next week. They will be longer than the 4 lines they get on the form letters.

Good luck to all and Happy Holidays!

I think it would be great if we all got to know each other than meet up when they graduate I know i am so proud of my husband but this has been the hardest thing i have ever had to do. Now i am just sitting around waiting on the letters to come in.

14 is alot, yes, but the facility holds like..20 i think. SOME overflow...I DON'T highly suggest bringing more than 2..that's usually pushing it on people's nerves..because everyone wants to bring 1 or 2 extras..y'know?

Comment by BBWinthemoon on December 20, 2010 at 5:14pm

nicole, thank you for the information.

is 14 alot? seems that way. Do you still think that there will be room for the overflow(the ones NOT on the list?) Just trying to make some decisions...

There are 14 divisions that are graduating on 2/11/11.

BB - Hold means they're waiting for rooms to open up or something..there's no place to put them and waiting for someone to leave. You won't know their circumstances until PIR day..They won't even know until then. They won't know if they're G&G or not until closer to PIR. If they ARE G&G to GL, they will leave you after PIR go move their stuff. 4/5 hour task. Call you, then you come get them, MOST OF THE TIME, NOT ALWAYS they will get overnights unless they have watch. If they do NOT get overnights and are G&G you MUST have them back when they're told to be back. There really is no standard or anything. It's just a waiting game.

Well, mine is the same ship (9) - but division 070.  So, they probably will know the guys on 071.  Any other division 070?
