This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

@aprul - SO GLAD you got a call! Yeah for you!!
@mapakids - YES, thank God I did get the "hi, I'm here and they yell a lot" call on Wednesday, the 8th. Then the box on the 13th, but no letter... praying it's TODAY!!
mamawalrus, I read it some place that if your sailor will be staying in Great Lakes for A- school then after graduation they have to go check in before going on liberty which can take up to 5 hours. I believe it was on the RTC site I will look and let you know where it is.
Let me know if you can see the video I just pasted. Thanks
Hey Ladies,
So I thought I would share some good news with all of you...I got my form letter on Friday and I was so greatful now I have his official PIR 2/11/11. he wrote a small note at the bottom of the letter which was really good.
Had a wonderfule weekend celebrating my brother in laws college graduation.
Finished all my Christmas shopping and have all my stuff wrapped too! Yeah for me.
Then I was sitting on the floor last night changing my niece's diaper and my mom got a call on her cell phone...what do you know it was my husband!
He said it was really cold, food sucked, was in a division with some young guys and was one of the few that was awarded a phone call home! He said he really missed home and cant wait to see us at graduation.
He asked that I remind you all to send lots of letters because they really do look forward to it all, regardless if you write a paragraph or three pages.
It was absolutly amazing to hear his voice and it really made my Christmas holiday that much better!
Hope everyone is doing well and see you all 2/11/11! Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to you and your families!

Dianeep = I just sent you a friend request. Can you message me the link to the hotel or more details about it. I am looking for a suite to stay in. THANKS!
..oh, and also...they have 2-bedroom 2-bath suites too (what we got) so actually your parents could stay with you all if you wanted. Plenty of space.
Bexwest: We stayed at Residence when we went up. GREAT! Quiet hotel, free hot breakfast in lobby, nice suites, full kitchen, fireplace. Pet friendly. I highly recommend it. Close to Springhill Suites and Courtyard. Residence is a little closer to the base, but they all are within about 4.5 miles PIR shuttle at all 3 of the hotels ($3/pp each way; sailor comes back with you)
