This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

i have read about some of the head games recently.... would love to see the look on their faces during some of that, but as a mom it makes me sad, I know that they are just preparing them for "their world"
would like to hear more about what is different, I just searched this site and did not see anything, but I could have missed it.
Question and I am not sure where to find the answer here. Those of us with a 803-804 div I know that they different types of Spec Ops, what if anything is different in BC from the other rates? Just wondering, my SR told me that they will be woken at 4 a.m. for extra PT and that instead of 3 meals they get 6? Could that be the case, is there anything else that is different?
jessica and Mapa- it is different? I wonder why... is there anyway to confirm which one is correct? I am worried as I have already sent letters and so have family members to the address that is on the RTC and from the recruiter? It is the last four numbers of the zip that is different.
My sister sent a website that covers day-to-day boot camp activity for the first six weeks. It is for DEPers but interesting. http://navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433
thanks ladies I made a comand decision. I texted my sons friend and gf and asked them to back me up that both of them will go with us but I want them to let my son know that they will be there and wait in the hall till everyone else gets in then they will come in so that his sisters can deff. be there. as for the other two they are both 14 so they wouldn't full under the 12 and under. I know it will all work out one way or another just stressful.
good evening ladies..i maybe in your group..not sure yet. my sailor started BC on 12/14. i will hang out with you guys until or if something changes. i have been reading some of the code of conduct and what to expect at PIR. very intresting read, i will be printing out copies and giving it to the grandparents and girlfriend. this way there is NO MISUNDERSTANDING. my mother inlaw is a know it all, and when i have it in writing, there will be no misunderstanding.
I know they have to fill our that form but not sure when so maybe you can do some talking to the GF and explain you would like one of the sisters (who is over 12) to be one of the adults on that list. and she is more then welcome to wait and join you if there is enough availability/ I guess there is no easy way about it..... Just take a deep breath and think about it first.
Pench... ditto to what Jessica said....any of the siblings under 12 do not count towards your 4. I heard from a prev Navy mom, she said there were a lot of divisions graduating that day and there were still TONS of room for more people and there was noone in the waiting area. I think you are pretty safe with everyone getting in for PIR, AND if by chance on that day something happens and someone has to wait,,, they will still get to see your RCT right after the PIR. But I honestly do not think that is going to happen. Maybe you can talk to the GF before hand and explain how important it is for the sisters (over 12) to be able to experience this with their brother.
I got my form letter today and instead of being happy I was aggitated with my son. sucks to wait for something then when you get it only to be upset about it.... I am trying to understand my son's reasoning and maybe he like me doesnt know how to please everyone. I dont know, but he told me he could only have 4 at graduation and put the names down as mom dad his girlfriend (of three months) and his best friend totally leaving his sisters out. I think I was as hurt as my girls. maybe because I have 5 kids he figured better not to write down any of them then to having to choose between them. I don't know but at this point I am trying to think of how to calmly address this as not to upset him I will bring his two request but also his two sisters (other two are younger and will stay with my sister) two of the ones I bring are going to have to stay at visitor center I know and chance getting in to see the graduation. ahhh but again what two???? his best friend said no way he will not do that to his sisters he will happily stay home and I told him no my son wants him there rightly so they have been through so much together over the past 5 years. I asked him if he would mind staying in visitors center and waiting to see if he could get a seat that way and he said that would be fine with him he could just see my son after no big deal. his girlfriend was surprised but hasnt offered any suggestions as to a resolution. so ofcourse me being a mom is stressed even though it is 7 weeks away still gotta have ducks in a row you know.
I think I belong in this group. My daughter is ship 9 div 075. If I am wrong please let me know.
