This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

I called yesterday and got my sons ship/division number. They said that his PIR date wasn't in the database yet. They said it can sometimes take up to 3 weeks for a PIR date to be put in the database. Than, the form letter came same day and his PIR date is 2/11/11.
The recruiter said that it isn't unusual for a PIR date to change due to the holidays in December. It is also common for recruits to be moved around from ship/division to others. That is why he said it can take up to 3 weeks.
ok so I am not the only one still "waiting' for the form letter. Whew....still bummed!
Nicole @ got our Div and ship number from the recrutior as well.. pretty much know PIR is 2/11/11 by following prior PIR's but we are mostly waiting for that "wonderful" thing called "words from our boys" hahahahahahahahhahaha Maybe tomorrow for me. It would make my weekend so much better!
So you've gotten letters with his DIV & Ship addressed..but no form letter?
If that's the case, contact his recruiter.
If you HAVEN'T recieved a letter addressed with that, you may not be in this PIR. If that's what his recruiter gave you, it could very well be wrong, and he could have been switched to another division/ship.
This was my PIR experiance with C:)
Sailorsgirl- Yes, that's much better. It's NOT classy to be wearin skirts(SHORT ONES) and low cut risqae shirts..it's not the attire to wear to that. Remember, what YOU wear, represents YOUR sailor, who represents YOUR country. Dress COMFORTABLE. Jeans and a nice shirt ((I suggest some sort of jacket)). It's cold. that doesn't look to be changing. Illinois weather is usually cold, snowy, & crappy until late February. Last year - We had snow until march.
QUESTION>>> Who has rec'd their form letter with PIR date? and when did your
son/daughter leave to BC?
BB so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet you jumped with joy on that! At least we know there is a 2/11/11 PIR :) I mentioned your sons name to mine since they are in the same Diviison.
I checked my mail earlier and there was mail BUT no form letter today! :( :( :( Totally bummed!
rating is his job specialty/ if you go to the right hand side of this page, there is a NAVY speak box, type in a Navy word and it will define it for you! It helps alot!
My son left on 12/8 and we are watiing on the form letter with the confirmed PIR date,,,,we pretty much know its 2/11/11. LOL
