This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Lexsmom.....My son left 12/8 and I just got the form letter today.  I live approx 25 miles from GL.  So maybe yours will come either tomorrow or Friday.  Hang in there I was incredibly frustrated yesterday when I was reading everyone elses  comments and that they already had their PIR and Division/Ship numbers.  I had nothing yesterday.

BBWinthemoon... My sons recruiter also told me it usually comes around week 3.  But mine arrived exactly one week after he left.  Hang in there.

It felt real good to mail off two letters to my son.  I can't wait till he can read them.  Looking forward to getting mail from him also.

Wow! Just had a call from my son's recruiter, he wanted to thank my for the goodies that I made and to assure me that my son would be fine, and that he is living his dream and as long as he can keep his mouth shut, he will do just fine! What a great guy! He did say that sometimes the form letter may not come until week 4, it just depends on the the group. So we must just wait and see.

Okay mamawalrus since you are admin let me see if I can help you.  Go to the other group room and click on the widget you want.  Set it up just how you want.  then it will say get the code....copy the code or click get the code whatever you have to do.  Then come back here and in the box where the countdown clock is...it will say edit....click on edit....then you will see the code for the clock...bypass that and then leave 5 lines in between...paste in new code...and then on bottom right hand corner of the box it should say save...click save and wahla.....it should be good.

Hello Ladies, My daughter arrived at BC on 12/7. I got "the box" on 12/9. Just got her address from recruiter yesterday on 12/14. I am anxiously awaiting the form letter as well. I do not have a PIR date as of yet. This site was the only one close to what "I think" may be her PIR. I am confident my letter will come soon! This is a wonderful site, I find myself rushing home from work to see what everyone else is saying and feeling.

Great job Tracy...every recruit is allowed four guest...your recruit will have to turn in the names of these guests to his RDC closer to the end of boot camp.  These names will appear on a list at PIR and will be checked off when you arrive.  Children 12 and under do not count towards the four guests.  You can bring more than four guests, however they have to wait until everyone that is an "invited " guest is seated.  In our PIR we had 13 divisions, everyone got in...even the extra guests.  the Great Hall is large.  The last few PIR groups have been pretty small , less than 10 divisions, if that holds true for this group I wouldn't worry at all about getting extra people into the PIR.

Shauna582 - my son is also Ship 11, Div 065, we'll have to keep each other posted as to calls and emails!

@himmiemim = Children under 12 can get into PIR with an adult and do not need to be listed as one of the four guests.  They still have to bring ID.  We were thankful to learn this as my son has two younger half-sisters and we were trying to figure out what to do with them, if all the parents and step-parents went.  Check out the RTC site for more details.  http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/graduation.asp
