This is the final test for your recruits.  When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Glad to see that Jessica got you guys started in this group!  Welcome to the emotional rollercoaster ride of bc!  You will gather much info on here...as you have been able to tell already from all that Jessica and Lynne have already offered.  Please ask us veteran moms any questions that you may have!  HOOYAH to your recruits!

Aprul, I have been with my boyfriend for 8 months and I cant wait to receive a personal letter, either! This is the first time I've been away from him since a few months before we started dating, and the lack of communication is horrible. I cry myself to sleep, too...but..I know we can do it if we all stick together :)

To all: So I received my address yesterday from the recruiter and sent out two letters this morning. In the first envelope I sent the letter that I had written till Friday. Then I sent another letter in a different envelope and I put band aids as I know he is breaking in new shoes and we all know how uncomfortable that can be. I also went ahead and sent a calling card so just in case he gets a call home he will have it. I also sent a book of stamps with envelopes and paper so he can write and send letters when they are finally given the liberty to do so.

I have to say I am done with the first week but still have 8 more to go. Can't wait to get the formal letter and then a personal one from him. We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary on November 28, 2010 so this being apart from him is new. I have had really good days because I keep myself busy but at night I cry myself to sleep and in the mornings driving to work i hear songs and cry. I know it will get easier and cant wait to hear his voice again! What I miss the most is my morning text from him telling me how much he loves me, to have a good day and that he will see me when he gets home...dont get those and that makes the days SUCK!

I dont know what it is like to be the mom and let go but I do know what it is like to be the wife. And the wife with a 6 year old boy who asks where his step dad is everyday...I would say his name but that is not allowed and I dont want him getting in trouble. That is the hard part...but I give twice the kisses and hugs and say who they are from to let him know that dad sends his love.

We'll guess I better get back to work and talk to you all real soon! Have a great rest of the afternoon ladies and keep your head up. We are on the emotional rollercoaster and they are on the physical rollercoaster is what I say! Good luck to all the recruits and if they can do we can do it!

gmmavo@  There is also a PIR video available and some hoodies or t shirts with your son/daughters division. The number to the shirts and hoodies is 847-688-6944 or http://www.mwrgl.com.   The number to the NE photo lab is 847-578-6205, and actually if you go to Discussions, and I think under GRAD Photos you can get info.   I also believe I read some where that there are Division pictures available that morning of PIR for $8.00 (8 x 10).

You can send a check to your Recruit so he can order it or they deduct from his/her checking account.. We decided to avoid check getting lost we are just putting the cash in his checking account, and have him use his Debit card.  If you decide to pay the day of PIR, beware I hear there are LONG lines.

ame@ 800 is Spec Opps and 900 is music, flags and along that lines.

Does anyone else have a son/daughter in SHIP 9/DIV 067?  I havent seen anyone on N4M yet.

Also, can someone explain again what the 800 and 900 divisions are?  I remember reading it somewhere, but I can't find it now.  I'm just trying to educate myself.
