@navymom99 I will keep you and your daughter Casey in my prayers.. She is definitely stepping out on faith, trusting our heavenly father that he will see her way. You have an amazing daughter you should be very proud of her..... Iam  know I stressing trying to always solve problems for my daughter but now I had to learn to let go an let her be the adult she has grown up to be. I sometimes find myself missing that little girl in her. For instance in  my profile picture thats my husband an SSPhilistine being silly for the camera before going to the snow.. my silly girl god I miss her..

Bless everyone on this site.. we have 29days to go..

@gonavy I agree with you, I can't wait myself, Today is one of those days where I find myself  missing  her sooo much. its one of those days that I feel low... I really miss her today.... she would be off work today an we would go out an catch lunch together on Wednesday. I can only trust on the lord that he is with her at all time.

The countdown clock will read 29 days left today!!! I am so excited.  Can't wait to see my son and spend a few days just looking at him.  Have a great day all!

JessicaB--This only kinda answers your question but I am damn thankful I got a power of attorney for anything and everything. I am also very thankful we went through a checklist. We googled "pre deployment checklist" and there was a lot of good info.

I wish I had known to have more money saved up. I also wish I had known that TRICARE doesn't kick in until you get your military ID and only at that point do they enroll you into DEERS. I wasn't aware that the DEERS and the financial dependency status were two different things.

Wow, I was just looking at this week's PIR group. Five divisions, one of which is the 900 division, which doesn't march in with the group. Only four divisions will be standing in a space built for 20. The performers - three 900 divisions work together to form a performance group, plus the Great Lakes Navy Band, will outnumber them.

The good news is that the families will surely be able to get as many extra guests in as they want, and the ceremony should be quite short, as there are few divisions to inspect. LOL.

OTOH, your PIR group, and the one the week before yours, should have a spectacular event - not overly crowded (the worst I've seen was 17 divisions), but quite full.

Ok I got ahold of public affairs at GL today. They got ahold of Casey and she called me this afternoon. I told what we had found out and she sounded good. Said that god must have a different plan for her and as soon as she finds out her new job she would let me know the details. She said it must not be ment for her. I am so proud of her to adjust so easily to the thought that agin everything is changing. At this moment we do not know what job she will have nor where she will go to A-school or when she will be leaving now from GL or if she will. I will follow in her example and not let it stress me out to much. That is going to be the hardest part you know. I have to know when, what and where asap or sooner. Well thought I would up date you guys. Thanks for all the support and thoughts.

My husband was originally slotted to leave today until the recruiter graciously found him an earlier spot. Let me just say that I am so thankful that he left early. Now instead of being on day 1, I only have a month to go. Whoopee :D
