Yes Diannep, I just joined that group...VERY nice!  I was getting sick when I was reading all of the other site comments regarding Ship 17...joining Ship 5 group has restored my peace.  Thank you!

DSailor Mom, I am keeping him in my prayers. Did you find out they moved him to Ship 5  before or after you messaged me?
Comment by diannep on January 17, 2011 at 4:07pm

DSailor:  Is he being separated for medical reasons or recuperating from something?

Have you joined the group Ship 5 (formerly 17)?

My son Joshua has been moved from Ship 03 Div 082 to Ship 17 for medical reasons.  After reading some of the horror stories on the internet about this place I'm REALLY worried...any advice????

DebBee- As a military wife living overseas all I can say is I LOVE EXPIRED COUPONS!!! It is so great being able to use coupons past their expiration dates. I can save boat loads of money. I had some for syrup last week that actually ended up with me receiving .25 cents per bottle I bought because it was on sale for .75 cents and my coupns were for $1.00 off. Let's just say I won't need syrup again for the next 6 months.

myboysmom, there is a link to the facebook page where this lady sells the purses earlier in the discussion, or just a page back, her email address.

Wife64, rather than tell him a lie, simply withhold a little truth. Tell him the car is out of commission and too expensive to fix (true), and that you're moving back with your father for the time being (true). Let him think it's a mechanical reason for losing the car, until you tell him at PIR.

Wife64, let's look for the good in all that happens in our lives.  You are ok, that the first point, this is a test for your future.  If your recruit will be doing this as a career, or even for just his 4 yrs, you will have other times unfortunately that will test you while he is gone.  My sister in law had to endure several of those times while my brother was at sea duty, and during the Vietnam era, but she had to raise 4 sons in those 30 years they were in the Navy, and at least a third of that time she only had her Navy Wives support, which you will get to know as your new family once you have settled in.

You could wait until he sees you at PIR to give him this news but if you decide to let him know now, make sure he understands you are fine and that you are looking forward to seeing him so he can see that you are, but you are handling this and for him not to worry or be concerned by it.  After the "worry' wears off he will be so proud of you that you are making it when he is gone, it will help support him two-fold in years ahead
