My son is in Div 078 and we are trying to decide on a color for PIR. Have any of the other Divisions decided on a color yet? We don't want to take anyone's color.

Hey, Arwen, don't forget the Hall of Fame flag.  My son's division got that one and it was quite an honor.  And what about the CNO flag?
Comment by Arwen on January 15, 2011 at 5:04pm

Flags they carry:

Guidon: black and white flag with thier division number

Division flag: designed by the recruits themselves, often a cartoon representation of the RDCs, or some kind of more traditional militarish symbol, like eagles, death heads, etc.

Academic Flag

Athletic Flag

Ahem.... I used to know the rest.

The only "shuttle service" in Great Lakes that I know if is taxis. I don't know why they call them shuttles, but they do.

Most taxis charge an arm and a leg for trips to the airports, some upward of $85! But I did find one that has guaranteed flat rates for sailors and their families, $65 to Midway, and $38 to O'Hare.  I actually kept their card, figuring I will be going back to Chicago for my younger son's PIR someday. Message me and I'll send you the phone number.

It's much cheaper to get there by rail, if slower. She can just get on the Metra UP-N just outside of base, take it downtown, switch to CTA Orange Line, which goes to Midway Airport.

Yes!  I have a calender on the wall counting down the days.  We are on the downhill slide now ladies!

JessicaB - Is MA one of those high security clearances you talked about?

Sixkidsmoma it is awesome that you all got to talk to your SR but your husbands service to our country is totally amazing. Please thank him for me for protecting our rights and freedom.

Brenda Sue that is great info. I know everyone here really appreciates it. I hope your son is doing well and loving his Navy career. Tell him I said thank you so much for your service. My daughter is with the fleet now as well although she just had PIR this summer. She is with the Harry S Truman in VA. Thanks again.
