Things to ask your recruits when they call:
-->WHAT DAY OF TRAINING ARE YOU ON RIGHT NOW?<--
Do you know yet if you will be Grad and Go (or not). If yes, do you know what day you will leave?"
If they are shipping out to another school Friday, Would you prefer family to be at PIR, or would you rather have us meet at your school?
Do you need/want contacts/glasses mailed to you before PIR?
(for girls) Are you allowed to recieve a package of your preferred brand of "feminine necessity." If yes, do you want me to send one?
Have you taken your weapons qualification test yet? If yes, did you earn a ribbon?
What kinds of things do you want to plan for PIR weekend? What do you really want to do?
Do you a recruit petty officer? If yes, what is your job/title?
Hey PIR 2/18 Team....its been awhile since I have chatted with ya! I was away last week at my company's 2011 Kick Off. Guess what came in the mail on 1/6....3 letters from my sailor. I couldnt wait to get off the plane in NY and read them. My mom read them to me over the phone, but it wasnt the same, I needed to read them.
Then guess what...I got my phone call TODAY!!!! I was soooo happy...we had my sailor speaker phone so hubby, lil brother and grandma and papa could say hello. It was a fast 13mins, because he only had 30mins and wanted to speak to his sweetheart too. I finally feel a little connection, Graduation cannot come fast enough. I am still on Cloud 9!
Got my call too!! Oh boy was that nice! He sounded real good! Can't wait to see him in Febuary!!
No letter today, but...my recruit called tonite!! It was total hysteria in my home! My husband was yelling "caller ID says pay phone. Area code 847". I was running around looking for the phone, then pressed the wrong button and about hung up on him! Still shaking!
He passes a pt test and another test with flying colors, so he earned the call.
He says things are going real well. A lot of marching, studying, folding, and the worst is standing at attention for 2 and a half hours. Sleep is very little for him since he is division leader...a good night is 5-6 hours and a bad (usual) one is 4 hours.
He is counting down the days till graduation...37 and really looking forward to seeing everyone!
I hope others in his division also got to call home! Sounds like there were!
I wish all of you ladies a call tonite!!
I was so excited to get a call today from my boy!!! He called around 2:20 central time and sounded FANTASTIC. Go figure, he likes BC! He said the food is excellent (not surprising with my cooking skills), and he passed his PSA. He still has his wisdom teeth but he was told they would be pulled during A school.
