For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Got a letter from my son on Thursday--it was written on Christmas day and not mailed until Jan 3. It was a nice long 2 pager--he sounded REAL good. Now I am just waiting for that phone call to hear his voice!

txnavymom: Although they COULD fail an entire division, it is not likely to happen. As far as their ranks getting slim due to asmoes,etc....they should gain some other recruits back soon from earlier PIR groups who were asmoed, but are now ready to be reunited with a new division. They join a division that is at the same point of training that they were at when asmoed (setback).
Don't worry...these recruits will get it together. Just takes some time.

Hi Navymom74, my son is in the same div. he told us that it would be Thurs. at 5pm (central), but one of the other moms mentioned that her son said they had lost some phone time and were cut back to 45 minutes....haven't heard any more though.

hello to everybody!! got 3 letters from my son this wked..and expecting a call this Thursday..does anyone know if there is a certain time they call?? he is in ship 4 Div 805..we will be staying at the Residence Inn Marriott..anyone staying there?

I agree, idk if they would fail the whole DIV, if it got small they probably put them to other DIV that are not full. I hope DIV 79 would turn around before it gets close to BS21

@ cajunldr.....My thoughts exactly! My son has told me the same as Newnavymom (same div). He told me they started out with 88 and they are now down to 67. I know my son is very serious about the Navy and wants to be successful. Can they fail the whole division?
