Yes, NukeMom:  You may want to go ahead and make your hotel reservations...they are easy to change or cancel and some places fill up.

I haven't checked the mail yet of course I am working on New Years Eve! Keeps my mind busy and I can sit and chat with all you Navy moms!!! What would we do without each other.
Thanks for all the support, this weekend I am going to do some homework and reserve a place for PIR. All the suggestions here have made that a little tougher than I though because now there are so many good places I want to stay at. :)

No letter today as well :/ When I got his form letter it was Wednesday the 29th but the stamp on the envelop was the 21st....hmm weird...I guess its gonna take awhile for the SNAIL MAIL to get to Texas. Bummer.

I just joined Lifetime fitness yesterday, so that gives me a reasin to get out of my parents houe and do something...and I can look good for my husband while he's looking good in his uniform lol

No letter today, either....I think the mail lady is messing with me! LOL It's the pits because now i have to wait 3 days until the possiblilty of one coming happens.  I am glad to hear words that your loved ones have written, though.  I figured Christmas was just another day for them being they are so new to the military life.  I am assured by all military family members that he is ok and eating well...only a mom would worry how their child is eating!  So, onward!  Happy New Year!

NukeMom--hang in there. I didn't get my form letter till yesterday and I only live 8 hours from GL.  Oh also, my husband is in the same ship/div as your son and he's also a nuke!!

Cajunldr--My form letter also said "FEBRUARY 18, 2011 (MAY CHANGE)" but once it's on the website they said they won't change the date of a whole divisions PIR, only individual recruits PIR dates.

In case you haven't seen it, here's the link confiriming that SHIP 03/DIV 086 will graduate on Feb 18th.
