cajun-thanks so much for the info. Maybe mine will be in the mailbox when I get home. I too am holding off until I have final confirmation. I don't want to miss out on the deals though either. Pretty sure we won't have trouble finding a place to stay. Looking forward to PIR non the less. :)

Dear NukeMomShip3 Div 086, we rec'd our form letter yesterday from our daughter and it was post marked 12/27, but she filled it out to mail to us on the 23rd.  So I am guessing the weather and the holiday is messing up the mail flow.

She is in the same ship and div as your SR, and her PIR date thus far is 02/18/2011 but she did state it might be changed, so I am holding off until next week or until I get a phone call from her to confirm my reservations.

Hope this helps, let's keep in touch and share info from each of our SR's.

Happy New Year to all.

I am not saying that I am glad someone didn't get a letter but at the same time I am glad I am not the only one waiting.Selfish I'm sorry. But also so glad when I hear stories from other SR's. All is well I guess. Waiting to hear any little thing. I still have not received the formal letter. I refuse to make reservations and plans without kowing exactly what the date and everything will be. Don't know if he is still in the same DIV or what!!! UGH!!! Maybe my mailman is messing with me? Everyone have a very Happy New Year and a safe one at that!

Just came from the mailbox...no letter.  I am disappointed but dealing.  No mail will run tomorrow so I guess when I go back to work on Monday, I will run home at lunch everyday to check the mail. I can't focus on anything.  For all of you who have gotten your letters, thanks soooo much for sharing.  I'll take any info at all about what's going on there, a little insight into what my son might be experiencing.

I got my letters yesterday, I cried for like an hour as I read them over and over again. He said because he was still in processing the day of Christmas, if he had been there one day sooner, he might of been able to call me on Christmas but he wasn't allowed to, he said because he was in processing still he really wasnt allowed anything, no liberty, or break on sundays, no call, nothing. But he wished me a merry christmas through his letters. He says he misses me so so much and wishes I was with him now. Since we started dating almost 5 years ago we have been almost inseparable, so this is a big step for us. We made our reservations at the Ramada Inn for Graduation, and we r going to get our plane tickets in the next  day or two. We are staying through monday. I am so excited.

Good morning everyone. Congrats, for everyone who has recieved their letters. For those who have (like me) hang in there. Its coming. My husband checks the mail everyday, and makes me wait at the house. Its a 1/4 mile walk from our house one way and you cant see either. I think he is scared I will rip it from the ground and he will have to fix it. He is such a brave man, hes the one that has to tell me nothing today. Although he does tell me from another room. I reserved my room yesterday at the Qaulity Inn. But I am going to wait a little before I get my plane tickets. I have never been on one before, but I just dont know if Im up for a 14 hour car ride. Take care yall!

HROSE:  As far as Monday liberty, don't count on it.  I know of many who stayed through Tues or Wed to be with their new sailors and found that they were not allowed liberty after Sunday.  But to be on the safe side, you may want to book your flight back on Monday night.  You never know!

So happy to see folks are starting to get REAL letters!  So hoping we will receive one today or a least by Monday.  We have already booked our rooms for graduation...staying at the Ramada Inn.  Looking so forward to seeing my son again and waiting very patiently for a letter just so we know a little something.  Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year...we have much to look forward to in 2011!!!  Go Navy!!
