The $6 is roundtrip...you pay $3 each way on the PIR shuttle. No waiting in lines on the shuttle.

It's funning you ladies should bring up going to the hairdresser!  I walked into the salon the saturday after my son left and my stylist took one look at me and told me i looked tired and sick....i busted out crying on her and felt like a total fool.  It's a good thing she has a son going in the military and understood or I would have looked like a nut!!

I am still waiting for a letter (other than the form letter).  I run to the mailbox everyday....I can't wait to hear from my son!  I didn't realize I was depressed though until I went to the hairdresser today and told him I didn't care what he did to my hair.  First he took a razor to it and gobs of it fell on the floor. Then he came out with a bowl of black and a bowl that was as orange as a carrot and I thought, "What I have done?"  It actually turned out pretty good, so I lucked out.  For a few desparate moments, I thought I would be going to my son's PIR looking like a punk rocker.  Good thing I teach theater...I can get away with looking weird.  Oh letter please come before I go totally nuts!!!

I received the form letter and a letter from my daughter today, she had written it on Dec 20th (10 days ago)! Talk about snail mail...LOL! She sounds really good and said she made section leader already, I'm so proud of her. It is really hard for her to away from her family, but she is tough and making it. I feel much better now that I have received her letter. I'm so looking forward to Feb. 18th!

kathyf-  Yes, our hotel does have a shuttle service.  They said it leaves every 15 minutes and cost $6 for us and nothing for my soldier.  They also advised that the shuttle does not wait in the traffic line to get on base.  It is let through immediately.  So excited....7 weeks is going to drag on!!! :)
