They told me they changed the who GnG for those going to other "A" schools no long leave on fridays...they changed that rule about a year ago. They may leave on Saturday but not on friday is they are not going to A school in the Great Lakes

diannep- Thanks for the info.  I had called Residence Inn and they did not offer info about the 2 bedroom, 2 bath.  I called back and asked and they had one available cheaper than Homewood Suites and it's so much closer.  Thank you!!!

Im getting a little worry I read you guys making reservations for hotels and flights and was going to wait but maybe I shouldn't. The letter did say to wait just in case. But im afraid I will not  find nothing near the base if I wait to long. My son is going to A school in Great Lakes but I dont know if that means GradNGo?

Arianna:  I have found the info on GradNGo that you reported sort of right...but I have known of ones bussed to the airport on Fri evening...not staying in GL...and they are termed GradNGo.  My son went through bc almost a year ago...I still remember when he called me and told me he was GradNGo...now, neither he nor I knew that term then...but that is what he was told, and he bussed to the airport/flew out on Sat.  So sounds like there is a discrepancy in terminology there!  When we say GradNGo on here, we mean flying out on Fri or Sat or moving over to GL base on Friday.

DebBee:  If they have been there now for 2 weeks, chances are they are now into the first week of bootcamp. Length of processing days vary for each division...and with the holidays in there, it could delay.  But when you hear from your recruit, be sure to ask what "day" they are on that day (1-1, 1-2, etc...first number is bootcamp week #, second is day #).  Day #1 will always be on the same day of the week from then on.  I remember my son telling me something like they are "finished" by 6-5 and ready for BattleStations when he went through...but that may have been his group.  Not sure.

Any moms whose loved ones in SHIP 3 DIV 080, have ya'll received your form letters yet, or a personal letter?

Lala:  I think the confusion with the GradNGo term is that RTC uses that for Fri departures, and departures on Sat. are not called GradNGo...so I was told. However, my son was also GradNGo, as he was told when at RTC, and he left on Sat.  So we include Fri/Sat departures as GradNGo. I do know that occasionally, some leave on Friday (GradNGo to GL for sure...but of course, that is usually a good thing because overnights can happen then for them).

trishfit:  I have heard that Homewood Suites are nice...if you book at Residence Inn, they have the 2-bedroom, 2-bath suites with full kitchens, and living room sofa pullout also.  Might be a bit more pricey (we paid $139/night for this in Feb).  But it is only 4 miles from RTC and they have the PIR shuttle ($3/pp each way....sailor returns with you)

Anyone have any information on the Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire?  It's a bit further but we really need a suite situation and 2 baths appeal as well.  Help!!!!

Thanks for the info Lala Ribbon Queen.  There is so much confusing info out there about Grad and Go.  You gave us very detailed info and that really helps.  THANKS!
