I hope you all had a great Christmas. I am making ribbons for those who would like them to wear to PIR. They are a great way to show your pride and to recognize other N4M members and make a great keepsake for scrapbooks or frames. I have several orders for this group already. If anyone would like to order some just click on my name and send me a friend request and I will send you the info. You can see some samples on my page as well.

Just got our letter today, Andrew is Ship 09 Div 078 with PIR 02/18/11.  It will be here before we know it.  Pray for their wisdom and strength.  They are there for each other and they all need our prayers.

I would say that Div. 075, 076, and 077 have a 75% chance of being Grad and Go, the entire lot of them. Some would leave Friday, others Saturday.

If they are staying in Great Lakes for school, they will spend 4-5 hours moving over to the other part of the base, where they will check-in at A-school, get room assignments and instructions for their weekend liberty.

If they are going to another city for A-school, some will leave immediately after PIR to the airport to catch a flight. Others will have liberty Friday, and will catch a flight on Saturday. Yes, you may meet them there at the USO and spend time with them until their flights leave. Sometimes they are there for several hours. At that time you can give them cell phones, computers, etc. If they're going to Pensacola, go ahead and give them a duffel bag with civilian clothes, they will earn them fast!

Of the remaining divisions, the vast majority wiil not be Grad and Go. Some, especially the later divisions (080-086 and 913) will probably have to stay at boot camp for a few more days. My son's division remained at RTC until the Wednesday after PIR, completing some training that wasn't done before PIR, and waiting for their orders to come through.

I meant to put some bandaids in my sons wallet as well. There was so much other stuff going on I forgot that one. I am leaning towards the Residence Inn. It seems to be the only option that has 2 bedroom suites.

Glad to hear you got your letter Renick. Not sure if my son sent the letter here or to his sister. She was away for Christmas and will get home tonight. Can't wait to find out if she got it. Mailing has been really slow arriving in Europe this Christmas so who knows when I will get it if he sent it here.
