Ditto. feeling robbed of my merry christmas greeting.... didn't really expect on... but still... Merry Christmas to all the ladies here. Monday will bring letter!!!

I think that it needs to be fully understood that today is a tough one for everyone.  Most of us if not all were hoping against hope we would get a call because it's Christmas and many of our kids haven't been away from home before let alone on Christmas.

We vent, cry, whine, you name it here because we can do so safely.  We aren't writing letters to our recruits saying how much we miss them and how lonely we are for their company.  We do this here because others will understand how we feel while our co-workers, friends etc just don't.

Not one of us forgets the sacrifice our children are making.  We're just trying to get through this time is all.  I agree with Wendee... I just want another bone is all.  Understand the reasoning, just don't have to like it.

I don't think you offended anyone joshuasmom.  Think it's just rough for everyone is all.

Just got my first batch of letters ready to send... come on Monday... I am anxious to get them off to him.  I agree with itsmewendee... we need a place to vent about how we feel... of course we all know what are kiddos are training for and if we were to dwell on that alone... it would drive us mad, with that said joshuasmom.... no offense taken.  We all handle this in different ways.. some of us can stick our chin out and say "Come on," is that all you got while others of us need a shoulder email, chat or this site to get support.  I know if I did not have all of the great people here on the site... I would have been in a much worse place now.  All we can do is lift each other up when we are down and keep all of our sons and daughters in our prayers.  I say a prayer each night for everyone's recruit for peace and safety and for my son I try to think positive strong thoughts to send to him.  :-)

I meant no offense to anyone, not to mention it was a pep talk to myself also. I have horrible moments, and never got his call the first night or since so I do understand...

Merry Christmas Ladies. I fianlly got my letter yesterday. My Daughter is in Ship 09 Div 076. Anyone else? I know i do feel better after getting the form letter with a quick note. I had tried almost everyday to get in touch with her recruiter to get her address, but it seems that the entire recruiting station took leave at the same time and they do not not return calls left on their voicemails. Well at least, I finally have her address and took my stack of letters directly to the post office. Like many of you this is my Chrsitmas without my Daughter, and really can feel the emptiness thats left behind. I have 2 sons at home and they miss her too. We kept to traditions as best as we could, but it wasnt the same. I am hoping for a phone call, but I know it may not come. I figure if I can afford hope today is the day. Every one take care.

Yes, BAH is calculated according to zip codes. Some people live in really expensive places, and others in not-so expensive places. For example, a tiny apartment in San Francisco or New York can cost $2,000/month or more, while the same apartment in a moderate-size North Carolina town may only cost $400. So they pay housing according to the average prices where you live.

Lets not forget what today is really about! Our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, are learning how to defend our freedom, also learning how to go without a lot of communication with family. It is rough but mostly on us. God bless all of you.

my cell phone has not left my hand yet since 0500.... it would be great to get a call but..... we are bracing for not.  I have a stack of letters ready to go out on Monday.  Support in an envelope.  I am sending a hug to all of us missing our recruits today!

Moms and Dads missing your recruits, I am praying for you that you get a call. God bless you all and God bless our kids.

Merry Christmas fellow moms! We are also hoping for a call. This morning was, um, different? We went to separate church services,as we dont want to miss the call if/when it comes. He's on my mind constantly today.
