Hi everyone. I have several friends here who have kids who will graduate on Friday. My son just graduated on 2/11/11 and we just got back home today. You also have a very large PIR group with 14 divisions. We stayed at Spring Hill Suites and the only negative is that that the so called Shuttle they have are not shuttles, they are cabs they call. We finally gave up as we were supposed to leave @ 6:30 am. Finally at 7:15 we drove and waited and waited in line at the gate and security. To ensure you get a good seat if you are staying there....drive and be in line at 6:00 a.m. I was so upset to be in the balcony, but, I could still see ok, but was quite aggravated with the hotel. Order the DVD because you will be so busy watching your kid that you will not even notice anything else other than your kid. It's amazing and you will be prouder than you can ever imagine and very emotional too. Oh and if your SR doesn't want to do anything but hang out in your hotel...let them and just enjoy the time you have with them. My son wanted to do a few things, but just relax and talk and hang out with us was what he wanted the most...so that is what we did and we had the most amazing time with him. Best Wishes to all of your SR's. I know the Navy will have another 1000+ new sailors on 2/18/11. It is amazing what the Navy and RTC does to transform these young kids in to young adults. :) {{{{{Hugs}}}}} to all of you!

No problem, kellroy....we have 3 possibilities with the remaining divisions...and if all divisions left prepare for calls as early as tomorrow, we should be covered!

Thanks Diannep I appreciate the info. I will be overnighting it in the morning.

diannep - don't know for sure if my info. is correct -- that's just what some recruits in 913 div. have written to their moms -- it's making me crazy as I don't know when to expect a call!  I probably won't leave the house for the next two days just to be safe!! haha
Comment by diannep on February 13, 2011 at 3:08pm

kellroy, thanks for the Battlestations update.  But the only way that 913 goes tonight is if 85 and 86 go tomorrow night, which may be true?  They only allow 4 groups to go through at once.  So I it is possible that 913 goes tonight with 83 and 84, and 85 and 86 would go through tomorrow with 805.  I will put both "scenarios" up in the Battlestations discussion group.

Thanks!

Actually, the Navy Lodge is less than 1000 feet from recruit barracks, but the gate and MCPON Hall are on the other side of the base. You have to go all the way around to get in.

Hat's off to Div's 082, and 084!  Great job on the Captains Cup wins!  I know you all had a great day competing together!  Look forward to seeing all perform on the 18th!
