OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

trsteve:  Just a plain black bag...no special brand. They sell them at the NEX too so you can get it there after PIR if you like.  Or Walmart is good!

Angie, I will not sure if my zoom lens is powerful enough. They are making it sound like we need binoculars to see anything.

My son's PIR is next Friday but he is going to be in the ceremony this week  He will be a shipboy  (the ones that salute the Cheifs and Commanders when they enter the ship)  If any of you can snap a photo of him I would love it   Congratulations to you on your new Sailors!!
