Cool Kylesmom
Ann Marie, I was able to ask my SR when he called after BS-21, he told me he is leaving around/after midnight from RTC going to one of the area Airports and that he gave me a time but already wanting to practice good safety not giving the exact time out on main board. Also what time my SR fight time was leaving. You can't get any other information than from your SR, he/she must give you his iternary. But what you can do is this...carry this with you to PIR so you can at least remember to ask them this:
Airport_______________________________
Airline________________________________
Flight #___________________________
Flight time_________________________
First destination (if more than one flight) _____________________________________
Time the bus leaves RTC_______________
Ann Marie: Mine went to Meridian MS and he actually called me with a friend's cellphone the day he left to tell me that they had missed their connection in Atlanta and would be put up overnight by Delta, flying into Meridian the next morning. He didn't call me again for a few days.(used his phone card then)..didn't even want his cell phone right away (but was allowed). He asked for it after about 10 days and I sent it priority mail...he got it in 2 days.
Also, your son should know his flight times by PIR day. They are bussed out around 2 a.m. and others a little later, but he may not fly out for a while. Go back to the hotel after dropping him off at the base, and take a nap! Then you can be up in the wee hours to meet him at the airport!
Tx Lady Jane,
I called O'Hare airport earlier this week and you are correct, we have to go in with our sailor to the ticket counter and when they show them their military pass, then we can go to USO area and gate with them. The man I spoke with was very nice and said there was actually 2 USO areas-an older one and a new one.
diannep where did your son go to A school and when did you first hear from him.
TXlady my son can be really flaky and he said he is flying out between 2-5 am. I tried to get specific info from him and he was clueless. How do I find out what gate he will be at if he doesn't even know? lol
