Hi all!  I thought this might be a good way for us to connect!  So took the advice of some other moms.  Hopefully we can get information on when we start receiving calls and letters and other info!

Thanks, diannep! Do you know how they determine which divisions the SRs are assigned to? I've seen that some are spec ops or music related, but wondered if each division has a specialty or certain jobs.

Ladies:  This part of bootcamp is what I call the "desperate" stage because they have recently left and the contact is pretty much nothing.  It does get better...and soon!  Once you get that first real letter, first real phone call...it becomes more bearable...so hang on!

They go by division number for the PIR date.  This 3/11 group has:

Div 91 - 102 and 917

If any of the above was the division number on your form letter, you are in the right place here!

My son is Ship 12 Div 095. I got a three minute call weekend before last but other than the box and form letter that's it. I'm still rushing to the mailbox every day.

I would check with Public Affairs about the PIR date.  I just received my sons letter on Friday and it had the wrong date.  It was a week later.

Our SR is on ship 12 Div 091 and we have not had any calls since the first one on Jan 6th or any letters so we are hoping it will be soon

glassdog-my son is also Ship 12 Div 102. When did your son leave for boot camp? Mine just left a week ago so I was expecting his PIR to be 3/18, but just got the letter indicating it would be a week early!

Just got my sons letter.  He is in Ship 12 Div 102.  Any others out there in the same division?
