Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Believe me, he doesn't play or sing anything other than an iPod. He is AW. Maybe he will get to do those things, but he says while they practice, the ten of them clean.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 21, 2011 at 7:04pm: Div 917 is a preforming division, make sure in the next letter you write to ask if they are in the choir, band, drill team, flag corp etc. Some will also be greeters and some will be body snatchers at PIR. My sailor was in the choir. Feel free to check out. My info on my page and send me a friend request. I am happy to help in any way I can.

Comment by Lia (Navy Wife) on January 21, 2011 at 6:40pm: I got my first letter from my fiancé yesterday, but I don't think the form letter has come yet. He was able to write both me and his mom, but I'm not sure what day it was. He is also Ship 02 Div 917, and yes, they are graduating on 3/11/11.
