Just found out my son is in ship 12 div 092 shi USS Triton. Recruiter said PIR date is 03/12. I told him that can't be since thats a Saturday.  I tried calling Public Affairs and because I don't have the form letter she couldn't confirm any of my son's information.  The lady was so nice and said as soon as I get the form letter to call her back and she would help me. The recruiter also tried to give me the address but I told him that thats not the right address. He laughed and said you are reading that website again... Navy4Moms....lol. But even the lady at Public Affairs told me not to believe the address the recruiter gave me.  So I'm still waiting...I miss my son so much.....

I am so sorry for your community diannep.  I can't believe the senseless shootings that have been going on. I will certainly pray for the familes and their loved ones.

Welcome to this group, kylesmom!  And, no, you cannot send letters to him until you get an address for him (with ship/div info).  Your recruiter may have one that you can use...but your recruit will not be allowed to receive mail for 2 weeks, and can't write for 2 weeks.  But if you want to write to the recruiter's address (if he/she can get you one), the letters will be held and given to your recruit once mail is allowed.  We recommend that you all write your letters now, hold them until you receive your form letter with the correct address (usually with 2 weeks after they leave), address them all and send them then.  If you decide to go with the recruiter's address, it may not be totally accurate but the letters should get there eventually. But the form letter address (written in your recruit's handwriting) will be the accurate address.

I am so Dorri0 about your son's stress fracture.  It had to be hard for you not having him home for Christmas and now with a later PIR date.  I am praying for a speedy recovery for him.  One thing with a stress fracture.  They heal pretty quickly.  My son had one during football and he healed pretty quickly.

Please pray for our community down here in Miami.  We lost 2 police officers today, one a single mom to a 13 yr old, the other a man with 3 children...they were shot as they tried to serve a warrant to a 23 yr old former felon, released from jail in Sept, and suspected of committing a homicide just a month later.  Grief is heavy...even for Miami.
