Hi all!  I thought this might be a good way for us to connect!  So took the advice of some other moms.  Hopefully we can get information on when we start receiving calls and letters and other info!

To "theonlysouthgirl"  Wow! My heart breaks for you! This sounds like something our son would do. I hope and pray that the circumstances change for you and like a few others said, maybe he just isn't thinking or understanding what he's done.

Our son also left for Chicago on Jan.12. Have received "the box" but not the letter. I am only guessing at this point that he will be graduating 3/11/11 because of what I have read on this website.

I got an email in my regular email from a mom who is either in this group or the one before this one. She sent me all the info to order ribbons from me to wear to PIR in support of her sailor. She has an outlook email address and for some reason I cannot send email back to her. I need some more info (division #) so I can make her ribbons. If this was you please send me a message on N4M' or post a comment on my page. Thanks

I now know that my son is Ship 12 DIV 095 but I can't figure out how to add that to my name on here. Can anyone help me out with how to do this?

I just spoke with the Public Affairs Office Div. 091 will PIR 3/11/11 you will need a new password to get your passes.  She gave me the new password when I spoke with her. The number is 1-847-688-2405.  They are very helpful.  I hope this helps clear up the confusion.

nikosmom:  You have not received the form letter yet? If not, it should be arriving any day.  Then if you still need to call the Public Affairs Office, you should be able to get info. If it shows a PIR date of 3/4 on it (in your recruit's handwriting), and your division number is 91-102 or 917, then you are in this group, not 3/4.  There was an error made in the date given to the recruits.  Have to say, I have been on this site for a year and I have never seen that happen before!  Strange!

And, yes, ProudMom:  PIR is 3/11.  They made a mistake in the form letters.
Comment by diannep on January 19, 2011 at 5:02pm

ProudMom:  Yes, Div 100 is part of this group.

TG17 means "training group #17."  13 is the number of divisions in this PIR group

91-102, 917

Welcome!  You are in the right place!

theonlysouthgirl:  I agree with LWE.  I think he probably never even thought how much it would mean to you all to be there.  Although you all are a large PIR group, there is a good chance that you and your husband could still get into  PIR if he would like for you to come. Also, he has the chance to "change" the names about 2 weeks before PIR.  Maybe in a letter, you can tell him that you all would be so honored to be able to watch his PIR, and that N4M's told you that chances are, the extras can get in.  But remind him that it is totally up to what he wants....and then leave it alone.  This happened to another mom/dad on a current PIR group...he asked that they not come (and they live only an hour away).  They were heartbroken, but remained quiet and prayed about it, as did many of us.  Guess what?  Her son wrote to them very soon after that and said he would love for them to come see it!  So...prayers for you all...don't give up yet.  I truly think this is just something he never thought would be that important to you?  But it will be....PIR is phenomenal.  Prayers....

theonlysouthgirl, I am sure he doesn't quite understand what he has done;  does he think maybe you wouldn't be able to travel up there?  I know you are just devastated, but maybe it's not what you think;  give it a day or so to sort out.
